her heart was in a thousand piecesTHE DARKNESS swirled around her, and the silence echoed in her ears was a constant white noise that never shut up.
The void had been slowly filled with a cold, howling storm of fear that refused to ever let up. She was completely and utterly alone in her mind, body, soul, and most of all, entirely alone in this world.
Malivore.
It was made to be the perfect prison world, to make you feel alone, to leave you turning insane, wishing and trying so hard to get out that eventually you'll lose your mind.
Hope knew that, but she couldn't help but give in. Yes, she has always wanted to be left alone, but no matter what, she was always surrounded by people and things that kept her going, pushing forward. Now, there is nothing but darkness and loneliness.
It just reminded her of the darkness the Necromancer had left her in to punish her, to make her realize how much she missed her father.
At the thought of her father, she began gasping for air, relieving all those years without him, feeling like he didn't love her, feeling like she wasn't enough be because he had left her without an explanation. She loved him so much even though she had barely known him, and he was always distancing himself from her, just making it all worse.
And then she thought about her mother. Oh, god, her mother. Hayley was her everything, mother, best friend, confident, she grew up with her mother almost always by her side. She loved her mother more than anything else, and the realization that she was the reason her mother was dead. If she didn't kidnap her, she wouldn't have been caught, and she wouldn't have had sacrificed herself.
Not only did Hayley kill herself for Hope, so did Klaus, and Elijah followed his brother. Three people sacrificed themselves for her to live on, to have her own life.
Everything came crashing down on her and she stumbled to the dark ground, not able to breath, she was practically grasping at nothing. She was alone. She had no one.
This loneliness was a vice on her heart, squeezing with just enough pressure to be a constant pain. It killed her just a little bit more, taking what was once her inner light and replacing it with a darkness that overshadowed each moment. It is the fuel of her nightmares, the reason she struggles to breathe.
She hasn't had a nice sleep since the Hollow possessed her when she was seven, and when her family had to split up just for her safety. She hasn't had a nightmare-less sleep since she saw her father murder people that one time she wanted to speak to him when she was nine. She hasn't slept since she took the Hollow in again to save her family. She hasn't slept since she saw her mother burn in front of her very own eyes. She hasn't slept since her father and uncle sacrificed themselves for her.
And to top all that off, everyone she cared for has forgotten her. And she has nothing but her necklace and last name that belonged to her family, now.
Every nightmare of hers, every terrible memory hit her like a train, and she let out what sounded like a screech. She grasped at her neck, trying to allow air in her lungs.
She was having a panic attack.
The thoughts were accelerating inside her head. She wanted them to slow so she can breathe, but they won't. Her breaths came in gasps and she felt like she will black out. Her heart was hammering inside her chest like it belonged to a rabbit running for it's skin. The room — darkness — soon and she curled into a fetal position, trying to make everything slow to something her brain and body can cope with.
But there was no coping.
She had no one. She was utterly alone, no Lizzie there to stop this panic attack, no supersquad to hold her back. And most importantly, she no longer had the only father figure in her life to tell her everything was going to be okay.
Soon, she gathered her breath and was just sobbing now, letting out everything she has been holding in for so long. She doesn't even recall how long she has been holding her emotions, but they were all finally coming out all together.
And she hated it, but it's all she had right now to even resemble comfort.
Because after all, Hope Andrea Mikaelson no longer had hope.
