Still chuckling the moment his eyes opened, Mo Yuan had still to rid that girl from his mind. It had been centuries since anyone, whether male or female had managed to render him speehless, but not only had she left him beyond lost for words, but he had actually spent the entire night giving her first lesson some serious thought.
She might be very young, but what he realized in the end, was her youthful view of the world compared to his more experienced one, was actually a blessing in disguise. He had lived through every manner of emotion the heart could possibly experience, so to actually see things through her young eyes instantly sent his mind back to his own childhood.
Back then, he had been just as outspoken and impetuous as she was and as his mind went back to when he was about her age, untold instances came rushing back along with the many punishments that soon followed. If anything, he had become cynical in his much older years, so had forgotten how simple some issues that were relevant to him now, could so easily be approached with just her first lesson alone.
And it wasn't just the colour of his robes that his thoughts were lingering on, but his punctuality.
Taking his time to get out of bed, the first time he had ever done so in centuries, he wondered what his Disciples would think if he were actually late for breakfast. Relishing the thought of rising late and seriously alarming them while also wondering if they might come to check on him, it actually was an effort for him to remain in bed in order to be late, when all he wanted to do was watch their reaction as it was happening.
Instead, he remained horizontal while his mind continued to dwell on the girl and who she might be. He honestly had no ideas at all. Not one single name came to mind even when he thought on who her parents might be, because everyone he knew, would never have allowed their daughter to speak so carelessly. Not even Zhe Yan regardless if she was his or not.
Actually he had no idea if she was his or not, and that had him realizing that he should have asked the man while he was there. Though he was expected to return later that day and every successive day after that, he knew he would be pushing for time because he still had his own Disciples to teach. And suddenly a roar of laughter erupted as her name came back to him.
"Shifu indeed!" he shook his head lightly before taking a look out his chamber window.
The sky was just beginning to lighten, so he knew that Chang Shan would notice his absence, only the rest would just be rolling out of bed, so deciding to wait a little while longer, he then began to dwell on how he was meant to get a pastel green robe seeing as she was sending him the blue one, without raising suspicions because the last thing he wanted or needed was for his Disciples to learn that he had a little Shifu who was giving him lessons on seduction.
Once again chuckling at the thought, he didn't notice that dawn was well and truly in action until the first rays of the sun hit him square in the eyes. He was now well and truly late, maybe an hour or so, and wanting to draw out the lateness a little longer, he rose slowly to dress himself, as two other details of his first lesson came back to him.
The first being her knowledge of war strategies. He did not teach his disciples to fake confidence. He taught them to actually be confident in everything they did or said and he was positive they would fall over and die if they knew that he had won many of his past wars on false bravery, as she so put it, when in reality he had been just as afraid as his enemies had been.
Then again, when he looked at it from her youthful perspective, he could see how she would come to that comclusion after all the youth were rash, impetuous and reckless and false bravery was how many were able to wing their way out of most situations.
