Mo Yuan was at a complete loss as to what his Little Shifu had possibly done to upset the Queen of the South to the point of threatening the Peach Grove. Though the need to find Zhe Yan was not yet urgent, he would have to talk to him seeing as he himself was also responsible in a round about way. Then again, he could imagine all kinds of scenarios seeing as his little Shifu was as impish and childish as the Queen was ruthless and conniving.
If anything, he knew that whatever had happened between the two had now become his problem seeing as the young Goddess was his own Shifu, and one he was obligated to protect. He might not have given her the bond of allegience as his own Disciples had done, but by calling her Shifu, meant it was implied and therefore making her position just as sacred as his was to his boys.
In fact, Mo Yuan had not taken the Shifu/Disciple bond all that seriously because he was merely seeing the lessons as something refreshingly fun yet confusing and at times infuriating, so to now find himself the centre of what could become a major issue between the South, The Celestial Heavens and now the Peach Tree Grove, he realized he was going to have to tread carefully. But he was damned if he was going to quit because of one womans insane jealousy and nor was he going to allow that Queen the chance to do harm to his Shifu or Zhe Yan.
Though thinking about his wayward friend who had chosen the most inopportune time to disappear, Mo Yuan was not overly concerned for the Phoenixes Grove or person, because very few men in his world could match him in power and knowledge, and Zhe Yan was one of them. If that Queen wanted to take her anger out on the Grove, Zhe Yan would not take it lying down.
Then again, Mo Yuan knew that Queen. She was stubborn, fiesty and malicious when she felt threatened, and nor did she become the Queen by being complacent. She was ruthless, arrogant and dangerous, even more so having all but threatened to align herself with the Demons which Mo Yuan could not afford to happen. If the Demons added the South to their allies, they would become an even greater danger, because her lands and wealth far exceeded the Celestials.
In fact, only the Fox King of Qing Qiu outstripped her in size and power, but he was a reclusive man who gave up on the worlds affaris centuries before and though he was also considered a friend, the man was not aligned to anyone having also given up on all alliances including the Celestial Heavens who he had even less time for seeing as his ideals were far too advanced for most, and that being less activity meant less noise. In other words, the less he involved himself in, the less stress he had to deal with which is exactly how Zhe Yan saw things, so he knew the man would not be happy to return to the mess he had inadvertently caused.
Now returning to the Grove with a headache and feeling like a wayward child who had just caused trouble for his elders, he couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity seeing as he was wearing pastel green, the colour for youth. But with a few questions in mind and wanting answers, he arrived at the tree to find his little Shifu nowhere in sight even though he could definitely feel her energy. And not only was it unsettled, but his stomach once again began to flip over itself having sensed something he wasn't quite sure of in it.
"Shifu. I am here." he called out.
With her head craning over the side of the branch directly above his head, Bai Qian immediately noticed the stiff shoulders and tension in his dark eyes that were scanning his immediate surroundings. It was obvious that he was worried about that Goddess, seeing as she had learned from the sprites exactly what had happened that morning. In fact, her sprites were her main news source seeing as they could move about unseen if they wished seeing as Zhe Yans peaches afforded them far more magical cabilities than sprites raised elsewhere. They were also lightening fast, so could move about their world wit ease and safety and when they gathered in large numbers, they were actually a deadly force should any harm come to her, Zhe Yan or the Grove.
