One month later.....
Taking the cup of medicine from Die Feng, Bai Qian lowered herself to Mo Yuans side as his first Disciple helped him to sit up. "Drink this. Zhe Yan said it will take the pain." she said softly and forcing the cup to his lips to make him drink.
Not that she needed to, Mo Yuan was never one to shrink away from medicine, not even as a child. He used to take great pride in being the only one of his brothers who never kicked up a fuss or threw a tantrum because he didn't like the taste. If anything, he gained a reputation for being far too enthusiatic for foul tasting things. Only he hated being sick and useless, so he gladly took the medicine in order to get back onto his feet quicker, while the others fully took advantage of being laid up in bed and being waited on.
So to see the compassion and guilt in her eyes as she tried to remain stern in order to get it into his mouth, only had him snatching the cup out of her hand with what looked to be a sneer that she would dare to think him weak. Then quickly guzzling the entire contents in one mouthful he shoved the cup back at her, only to growl low in his chest as Lok entered the room dragging a large bundle behind him.
Looking up briefly, Loks eyes quickly lowered respectfully as he dragged the heavy bundle to the other side of the room. It contained firewood for the hearth because Mo Yuans body was not yet able to regulate his temperature, and having been given the punishment of personally taking care of the War Gods every need including his laundry which needed to be changed several times a day due to the seeping wounds and internal injuries that seeped the infection out of every orifice, his small and tired body was far too exhausted to react.
It was disgusting work, but Zhe Yan not only ensured that Lok alone was the one who had to manage all the dirty work, he was also in charge of gathering wood, water, food, and anything else that Mo Yuan needed. And right now, he needed to be sponged down under the direct guidance of Die Feng who not only ensured the water was clean and free of any contaminants the sprite may have added to the water, but it had to be at a specific temperature, just hot enough to ease his aching muscles without scalding him.
And that came nowhere near to what his Shifu had planned for the evil little menace, only the low growl instantly had Bai Qian moving to protect him, seeing as Mo Yuans eyes were glaring hard at the sprite with evil intentions written all over his face.
"Quickly light the fire and heat some water Lok." her soft voice commanded the little sprite who was feeling utterly ashamed of himself. Zhe Yan had whipped him too, then ordered him to commit himself to Mo Yuans healing while not allowing him to deal with his own pain until the evenings when he was finally allowed to rest.
Now scurrying to light the fire, he pulled the heavy iron cauldron over the flames before taking away the soiled linen and clothing that he would have to clean when he was done wshing the War God, then when he was done with that, he was to clean the chamber to keep it free from dust least Mo Yuans internal injuries worsened.
And all the while, his eyes remained down, his head bowed low and his manner respectful as he carried out each of his duties without pause while Zhe Yan dealt to the Pearl of Immortality, in which he planned to hide it in a place where none of them would find it ever again."

Mo Yuans healing was slow despite the mans enormous amount of culitvation and healthiness. The beating he took was the worst he had ever taken, not even in the demon wars when he was taken prisoner and severely tortured within an inch of his life, came close to the devastation his body had undergone at the hands of mere tree sprites that should never have been given access to what he considered to be weapon.
