Chapter 20: Reset

That weekend

Erica just finished putting Zoey to sleep while Zel was in the studio. They're relationship has been getting better. Zel invites Erica to the study more and he paused on tour to be by her side. Erica still was on maternity leave so she decided to watch her baby daddy enjoy what he loves. Zoe instantly woke back up crying. "Oh no, what's the matter princess? She laid her on her chest. Zel stopped working immediately going over there. "I just got her down" Erica said rubbing her back. "Aww come here Zo, your mommy woke you up" he said taking her from Erica. Erica rolled her eyes. "Shhh" he said rocking her back to sleep. "Blame it on me" she said. "You know I'm just playing. I love you mama, she's perfect" he said kissing her cheek looking back at Erica. Erica smiled "I love you too babe" she blushed. He leaned over pecking her lips. Frenchie walked in he immediately rolled his eyes when he saw Erica and Zel peeped. "Damn nigga, fuck wrong with your eyes? He said

"My bad, wassup Erica" he said. "French, can we talk? She got up. Zel pulled her arm "Don't get in between that" he said. "I know what I'm doing" she said. Frenchie followed her outside the studio. "Wassup? He asked

"Look this really ain't my place but the situation between you and Jo or whatever you think you know isn't what it really is" she said

"Erica, I overreacted but at the end of the day its a dub" he said. "I'm serious Ricky and Jo were never engaged it was all for play" she said. "What are you talking about? Who fakes about shit like that?

"It happens all the time, look I remember when me and Jo were super broke. She had her son and sister to take care of she ran into Ricky. He owned a strip club, and she worked for him" she explained

"I don't need the biography Erica" he said turning around. "No really, you know he's a retired drug dealer" Erica whispered looking around. "His whole family runs Miami, his family is in a fucking mafia. He needed Josie to help clean his image and he paid her" he said

Frenchie laughed "What type of lifetime movie shit is this? Yeah right! He laughed. "Well I thought I'd just give you a little clarity for your broken heart but if you want to be like that then so be it" Erica said. "My heart isn't broken miss, but uh thanks for the crazy info. I guess I'm a little more informed" he said walking back in the studio. Erica rolled her eyes "Fucking loser" she said before going back in.

Ricky

Everyone kicked it at my house. Kasey was laid up on the couch while Kamaya tended to him. Dreux was being annoying as usual. Rudy was acting awkward as fuck seeing his ex take care of her husband. While Jayde and I just kicked it. Everybody has been eying us thinking we're sleeping around when we're not. I can talk shit to Jayde all day long and she won't care. That's my dawg!

"Bro can I talk to you for a second" Kamaya said. "Yeah" I said. "I'll be back" I told Jayde. We walked into my room "Wassup Maya" he said curious

"So I found out some information about Josie" she said. I lifted my brown nodding for her to continue.

"What happened? I asked

"So apparently Kamara was crying upset called Morgan because she was upset about Kasey being shot. I guess her and Morgan started venting and Morgan tells her that Josie got stopped by the police, the were questioning her and gave her a business card" she explained. Ricky was already on defense about their argument. Now he's finding out she was questioned and she didn't inform him.

I don't think she would be that dumb but its the principle, I found out a few days ago. This happened last Sunday its now Saturday that's a long ass time. I aint tryna start no shit but its a serious situation" she said
