Excerpt From 'Bound To You'

Bound in chains the little goddess lay, her handsome face

Tear-stricken. With rusty gyves at her slender ankles

And talon scars at her hips, she slept a slumber unsound.

Naked she lay, her body a bony melee; I imagined her

Fed and drunk, fattened; a smile on her pouting lips

And suddenly I saw a young goddess for a slave girl.

Her rosy lips were sincerely distracting, I knew not why

I wished to kiss. So beautiful, I wished to touch

Her skin. The scent of her, alluring musk-rose apt to coax,

Capture and kill. I shrouded myself from her as she woke,

Not wanting her to see me, though her dove gray eyes

Pleaded me to let her. She was love-light in all intensity,

I closed my eyes to lose the gleam. But the goddess,

She was irresistible. I lose sight except for her, for

Her is all I see. I turned her away, though I longed

Her embrace, wanting to drive her out of my mind,

But she stood planted in my brain as she rooted

Around in my poor heart. I spurned her loving lips,

Refusing her bestowed blessing, spiraling into misery,

Grieving sin. Does the little goddess know

She has stolen my heart? I love her. But how can I?

I am an abomination, unworthy of her,

And she a goddessCould this be?

In love with a pure creature, me?
