I walk hand in hand with Nick to the car park amongst the chaos of people trying to get out of school as soon as possible. I was hoping to walk to the car park alone so I could somehow capture Easton's attention and talk to him about the situation I'm in, but I have a feeling that he's not going to want to talk once he sees me with Nick. I was most certainly right because once we're in Easton's line of vision I feel nothing but daggers on us two.
"Are you sure you can't come hang out with us?" Nick questions pleadingly giving me a pouted lip and all as he sits in his car with his friends
"I really have to study," I explain trying to look all cut up about 'not being able to come'.
"But next time?" Jonathan sounds off from the backseat.
"Yes, next time," I laugh even though there is nothing funny about it.
I wave them goodbye and watch as they leave the car park before fixing my attention on Easton. He looks over at me for a brief moment before saying goodbye to The Wanderers and hoping on his bike. As I hear his bike engine ignite a piece of me shatters inside knowing that he can't stand to look at me. I watch as he goes down the street off the main road in the direction of his house and I feel a glimmer of hope spark inside of me knowing what I have to do, I have to go to Easton's house.
I begin to walk in the direction of Easton's house and while walking try to deliberate what I'm going to say to him or better yet how I'm even going to be able to talk to him. I can't exactly walk up to his front door, ring the doorbell and ask his mum if I can speak with him? Because that would be easy and nothing about us is easy, far from it actually. I knowingly reach Easton house as I see his motorcycle parked in the driveway and I take a moment to analyse the situation. I spot a white wooden gate at the side of his house and quickly scurry over unlocking it and waking through the other side not walking to be seen by anyone. I peep through the upstairs windows to try seen which one is Easton's bedroom when I notice an AC/DC poster stuck to the wall. Unless Easton has a secret brother I don't know about its safe to say that's Easton's room. I grab a hand full of peddles from the ground and begin flicking them at Easton's window hoping to get his attention.
After more than a few consistent pebble flicks to his window I see confused Easton's head pop into the vicinity of the window. His eyes go wide at the sight of me but I can't help but smile in relief.
"What the hell are you doing here Juliana?!" Easton whisper shouts as he opens his window.
"I need to talk to you!!" I whisper shout back to him, as I continue to look in ever which direction to see if anyone is watching me or about to appear.
"Juliana, go home" Easton says before closing his window and walking back into his room. I can see it in his eyes that's he's already done with me.
"Easton please!" I plead him. I can't blame him for feeling this way or for even treating me like he is because what I have done to him is so much worse. I'd go mad if I saw Easton with another girl all out of the blue with no explanation.
There is no response from Easton only silence so I decide to take matters into my own hands once again. I turn to the big tree by the side of Easton's house which looks to be an essential in and out route for him I gather from the attached rope ladder, how hard can it be then. I take the ladder in my grip and begin to slowly climb up until the ladder runs out and I'm forced to opt to the thick and sturdy tree brand to get all the way across and into Easton's room. I get to the end of the branch and knock on his window making Easton jump up from his bed in surprise.
"Are you crazy? What the hell are you doing?" Easton says in a panic as he helps me through the window.
"I told you, I need to talk to you," I say as I climb through the window. Once my feet are planted on the floor Easton lets go of me reverting to the other side of his room.
