Harry's POV--
The moment I pulled out the one thing I have had in my pocket for the past week, constantly fumbling with it with my fingers, Leah's face lit up like the Christmas tree in the other room. However, when I opened it, that was when it changed. How could she have been less happy when she actually saw what it was that I was giving her? I thought she was going to estatic.
"What's wrong?" I spoke up, breaking the awkward silence between us.
"I-I can't. Harry, I just can't. At least not yet."
Before I could say anything else, she was dashing down the hall and into my bedroom. What in the world did I do wrong? When I imagined that moment happening, it went much differently than that. What did she even mean by she can't? She can't what? She can't take the ri- wait.
"Leah, this isn't what you think." I called behind her, making my way into my bedroom as well. When I rounded the corner, I noticed she was lying face down in a pile of pillows, filling the room with quiet sobs. "Leah, hey. Come here."
Trying not to hurt her, I wrap my hands around her shoulders and flip her over to where she and I were looking at each other. Her cheeks, as well as my pillow, were covered in tears, causing my heart to break right then because that was not a time to be crying. I pulled out her gift out of my coat pocket once more, placing on the bed in between she and I.
"Did you think I was going to ask you to marry me?" My voice staying quiet as I wiped a tear rolling down her cheek and to her chin.
"Harry, we have only been together for a month and a half, and most of that time we weren't even in the same country. I barely feel as if-"
"I wasn't going to." I said, knowing she was about to ramble. As soon as she heard my words, I couldn't quite tell if she was relieved or upset. I was never good at reading girl's facial expressions.
"You what?" She grabbed the ring out of its box and held it up. "Why did you buy my a ring then?"
Taking it from her, I slowly slid it on her finger and held her hands in mine, "It's my way to tell you that I'm yours forever and no other girl will be taking heart because it belongs to you. I'm going to be going on tour in the next month, so I wanted you to know that no matter what, I promise to come back to you. I know for a fact that I want to make you my wife one day, but for now we're going to have to wait a little while longer for that step."
Leah took her eyes off mine and stared down at the ring. I couldn't believe that after all the time I spent looking at different rings, it was now wrapped around her finger. Only Liam knew anything about it because I felt if all of the boys knew then I would never hear the end of it. I figured Liam would be the one to give me the lesser amount of slack for buying the ring. Plus, he had a good eye when it came to jewelry, and he was actually the one to pick the one Leah had on. It was just a simple band with a heart twisted in the middle of it. Nothing special, but special enough to mean something to Leah and I.
"Do you realize how much I love you? I think I may be the luckiest girl in the world."
"You are the luckiest," I said, giving her a smile. "And I love you too even though you freaked out about marrying me."
"Please don't ever bring that up again. I'm sorry, but you know where I was coming from right?" I nodded my head in agreement. "Okay, good. Now can I have a kiss yet because I haven't seen you in weeks and I think I-"
My lips collided against hers, interupting her. I just couldn't wait any longer.
Oops...no marriage proposal! Sorry! I mean I did think about it, but then again...they have only been together for a very short amount of time. Imagine if a guy asked you to marry him after only a month of dating! That craziness! Anyways...I hope you liked this chapter and be sure to give it a nice ole click of the star if you did (maybe even a comment if you're feeling super nice). Oh and thanks so flipping much for the 2227 reads! It means so much to me! :) Love y'all!
