♛ Chapter One ♛

Dear Diary, March, 13

I was in seventh period English class, listening to Mr. Williams drone on and on about adverbs and prepositions. We had already learned these about three years ago, in the sixth grade. My head was propped up on my hands as I starred at the hot, jock, Seth, from across the room. His dreamy, shaggy brown hair hung low in his face. His hands were tucked into the pockets of his red and white letterman jacket. His was unique. He was the star quarterback. He got his with the letter in gold.

The bell rang and I hardly noticed. Thaisyn came up from behind me and tapped on my back.

"Um. Cassie. Let's go!" She said flipping her long brown hair. I stood up, grabbing my binders. My pencil bag fell off my pile ó stuff, and I dropped to my knees to retrieve it as I hit my head on someone else's head. My hands were met by a much larger one. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the letterman jacket belonging to the one and only jock. I slowly looked up as his eyes met mine.

"Hi." His husky voice sounded as if it had gone through puberty twice.

"Hi." My voice squeaked. "I'm sorry Seth. I didn't mean..." I was interrupted by a finger slammed to my lips telling me to shut up.

"Just don't let it happen again." He leaned in and kissed my forehead. He then walked away. I was left in shock on the floor. Suddenly, I was jerked up by my arm. Thaisyn pulled me out of the classroom. "What was that!?" She questioned me.

"I. I. I don't know." I stammered.

"It looked like he was either threatening you, or wants to get with that gesturing to my body. I had a good body. I wasn't too skinny or too fat. I had curves in the right places. My hair was blonde. My blue eyes sparkled, but get grey and crystalized when I get mad. And I was mad. He had threatened me when I hadn't even done anything to him.

"I really don't know." I replied. I started walking to my locker. My locker is two doors away from the English classroom. It only took a short moment to reach the blue, metal box. I quickly entered my combination. I was so used to this code, it was almost automatic. Reese ran up to my locker blabbing about some up-coming football game against our rivals the Porcupines. "I need you to start a chant. Reese the Beast. You're a beast. You're the best. Your da-bomb-dot-com." He excitedly informed me.

"Reese. I love you. But that is the worst cheer, I have ever heard." I said grabbing my lunch box and back pack.

"Well you're the cheerleader. You would know. But I really want someone egging me on. I really need your luck." He whined grabbing and holding my hands. He was looking into my eyes and into my soul. We were interrupted by the sound of someone clearing their throat. We instantly snapped out of the moment. Reality set in. It was Thaisyn. She was looking a little uneasy. "Um. Reese and Cassie? Are ya'll ready to go?" Thaisyn said.

"Uh yeah? Yeah." I stammered.

"Yup." Reese replied popping the P.

We started walking home. We all three live in the same neighborhood. Thaisyn is to the right of me, and Reese is across the street. When I open the curtain blocking my window, on the second story of my house, I can see Thaisyn's window. Usually, we call each other whilst looking at each other. Which is how we pick out our clothes sometimes. Meanwhile, if I look in the front window in my room, I can see Reese. This is the result of many late-night group calls.

After our houses were in sight we split up. After in my house, I quickly said hi to my mom, and ran up the stairs to my room. I plopped on my bed and started writing in you Diary. I think you need a name. I think I'll call you, Stanley.

That's all for today Stanley.

Yours Truly, Cassie Roberts.
