♛ Chapter Five ♛
Dear Stanley, March 16.
When I got to Seth's house, I was greeted by Carsyn.
"Cassie!" She announced for all to hear.
"Carsyn!" I playfully screamed back. She laughed and I walked in. Logan was walking down the stairs, controller in hand.
"Hey!" I greeted him. He led me to his bedroom. He had a huge t.v. with a large entertainment center, covered with colorful game disks. He walked to the console and flung the Call Of Duty game in the slot. He walked over to the bed and plopped down. He picked another controller from the night stand and tossed it my way. I picked it up and we played.
After we smoked a bunch of bad guys, Carsyn came into the room. She climbed up onto the bed and sat criss-cross in front of me. I hit pause on th game. The five year old had a doll in her hand.
"Will you play dolls with me?" She asked.
"Of course!" I agreed. She took my hand and led me to her room, as Logan resumed the game. When I walked into the door, my eyes were instantly greeted by hot pink. The curtains were a bright purple that match the carpet. The walls were pink. There was a large doll house that was big enough to walk in. Her bed was a huge oak canopy that led to a purple swirly slide at the top bunk.
"Woah!" I announced. "You sure do like pink and purple." I commented.
"Those are my favorite colors." She replied, dragging me to he large playhouse. I bent down into the small door, walking in. I sat down on a little pink chair, next to a little tea table. There were four saucers with cups on them. She sat her doll down in one of the chairs and scooted up the doll's cup. She took a seat herself.
"What is your doll's name?" I asked as Carsyn poured my imaginary tea. I picked it up and sipped the air.
"Her name is Molly." She replied sipping her tea as well.
"I used to have a doll named Molly. Then my mom made me donate her, because I didn't play with her anymore." I commented, thinking sadly, on good times. "Don't ever grow up faster than you have to Carsyn."
She quickly nodded and we continued sipping our tea and playing with Molly.
♛
It was about 4:30pm when Seth got home from practice. When he got home, the kids and were on the leather couch watching Finding Nemo. It was at the part where Nemo's dad was tired of swimming and was hopeless as to finding his son. Dori started singing.
"Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming." I sung along with the kids. "Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming- ahh!" I screamed. Seth had touched my shoulder. I looked up, embarrassed. He was smiling childishly at me, as if to say, "You're watching Nemo, you like a little kid." The school jock was making fun of me. With his eyes! His eyes!
I softly punched his arm and smiled back at him. I got off the couch and let the kids finish the movie. As I stood, two small hands pulled me back. One, owned by each child.
"I don't want you to leave." whined Logan.
"Me either." his little sister agreed. I looked back at Seth who smiled.
"I'm going ot go spend time with your big brother now. Okay? I'm not going to leave you. I'll always be here for you. Look, I'll just be right up those stairs."
I stood back up and both kids jumped up. While standing on the couch, they both hugged me, and I gladly hugged them back. It was really sweet Stanley.
I walked back to where Seth was standing behind the couch. He took my hand.
"They really like you. You know that right?" he sadi. I glanced back to the couch. Both kids were leaned over the back of the couch. They were smiling.
"Yeah." I said. "I know.
Seth led me up the winding stairs. We passed the game room. We got to a door with a sign. The sign read, If your my friend come on in. If your a girl, come on in. If your my mom, I love you and there are absolutly no girls or friends in here, but you should stay out anyway. I glanced at him with my eyebrows raised. Sheepishly, he reached for the doorknob. when I walked into the door, my eyes widened and my jaw dropped to the floor. It was HUGE. 'Nuff said. The walls were a light blue. The white carpets matched the curtains. He had a huge king sized bed, with a white and blue comforter set. It had a mini fridge and microwave. There was another air hockey table. There was a ladder that led to a huge second floor of his room. The second floor took up half of the ceiling space, similar to an attic. Along the second floor, there was a fence -like post, acting as a barrier to prevent free-falling little kids. In the other side of his room was a trophy case. It held many, many football trohys and baseball trophys. But in the far corner were four soccor trophys. Each of the said goal keeper.
"I didn't know you played soccor." I said facing him.
"Oh. Yeah. Kind of a secret hobby of mine." he replied.
"That's sweet."I replied. "I've never seen such a vulnerable side to you. He looked down. All of a sudden, he loooked up. He had a sudden burst of energy.
"Hey! I almost forgot! I'm having a party tomorrow night! Me and a couple of the football guys are gonna be the hosts. Can you come?" he asked me eagerly.
"Absolutely! I can't wait!" I replied. He pulled me into him and kissed me. Then he hugged me and we just held for a while. I loved his touch. He was so warm. Odd I know, but it's the truth. We pulled away and he kissed my forehead. We parted ways. I'm now at home, on my bed thinking of what I'm going to wear to the party tomorrow night.
That's all for today Stanley.
Yours truly, Cassie Roberts.
