♛ Chapter Two ♛

Dear Stanley, March 20,

I know it's been a while, but I've been very busy. On the 14th, the day after my encounter with the jock, SETH and I had a little conversation about 'life', I guess you could say. In English, Mr. Williams assigned partners. Luckily for me Thaisyn was my partner..... At first. Seth requested that he change partners with Thaisyn because he "works better" with me. As he took the seat next to me I protested that it's not fair because I work better with Thaisyn, but the teacher wasn't seeing that. At the end of class I hurried out of the room, but was stopped by someone breathing on my neck. I froze and a few seconds later, that felt like hours, the mystery person spoke up. Instantly, I knew it was Seth. He whispered in my ear sending chills down my spine the words "I'm sorry to tell you this babe, but life's not fair."

I stood there in shock. I watched, frozen, as he walked on past me. I was in the middle of the hallway, getting knocked around by every passing student. Thaisyn soon looped her arm in with mine and she dragged me to my locker. I automatically turned the lock, waiting for the reassuring clank of the locker being popped open.

"Why does he keep talking to you?" Thaisyn questioned, as I grabbed my backpack out of my locker, and slinging it onto my back.

"I don't know. But, I'm getting really tired of it. The next time he says something, about this spiritual chicken grease bull-crap, I'm not going to hold my tongue anymore." I said slamming my locker door.

"Nor should you." Thaisyn replied as Reese came up behind us.

"What's up my peeps?" Reese asked as he struggled to keep up. Thaisyn soon filled him in on my dilemma. "Ohhh. Yeah he's a jerk. He thinks that just because he is the quarterback, he gets to do whatever he wants. But I play football too, and I don't treat girls, and really everybody, like crap, like Seth does. Speaking of which, do you have my chant ready?" he asked me raising his eyebrows.

"Oh." I smacked my forehead, stopping dead in my tracks. "No, I'm sorry. I've just been so busy with homework, and avoiding annoying jocks, and I just..." I cut myself off. "Ya, know what. I'll have it done tonight."

Then I came home starting on the chant. The words just came to my mind life a flowing river. When I was done I stuck my head out of my front window noticing Reese had his window open as well. I shouted at him and as he came into view I gave him a quick thumbs up. Less than a minute later there was a knock at my door. Knowing it was Reese I yells for him to open it. "Alright let's hear it." He said with anticipation in his eyes.

"Now I never said that you could hear it, I only did that to let you know it was done" I replied with a smirk on my face. He pouted knowing I had won. Reese soon left and Seth called and showed up to study for our upcoming English test.

I know what you're thinking Stanley. Allow me to explain, over the past couple days, Seth and I have become growing closer and closer. He now comes over for study sessions. One time, we finished early and he to ask me if I wanted to watch a movie but I told him bye and pushed him out of the door before he could make a move.

But today...I broke down and agreed, and I just finished watching a movie with him. To make it less awkward we sat in the living room.

I sat on the recliner and he sat on the loveseat aka. Baby couch.

It wasn't much just a movie right Stanley? Right!? It's not like he tried to make a move or anything, he just casually, as study buddies, asked to watch a movie with me. Tomorrow is the big game and I have to perform Reese' chant. It's going to be nerve racking, Seth is going to be there.

Thaisyn and Reese don't know about this blossoming friendship, but it's tearing me apart. We don't have any secrets from each other. I've made up my mind. Tomorrow, I will tell them.

That's all for today Stanley.

Sincerely, Cassie Roberts.
