Chapter 27:
2 vines, 5 tweets, 7 Facebook messages, and 11 Instagram posts. If Claire and Amarys were trying to be annoying over-posters, it was working.
I'm pretty sure that they've spent the past few days inseparable..
Annoying? Yes, but obviously because Claire is my best friend.
Weird? Unquestionably. Since when are the two of them besties? Claire doesn't even like Amarys.
But this was probably part of the plan, I guess.
Claire needed her popularity, and I knew she'd lie about anything to anyone to get it.
"And then the waiter ended up giving us all of it for free, all because of that request for ice!" Claire fake laughed in the hallway.
What had started off as a three way conversation between me, her, and Amarys, had turned into a hallway gossip gang.
"And then at the mall, three different stores asked us to model for them!" she continued, "I swear Amarys gets so many free perks just for being herself!"
Amarys blushed, embarrassed."I love my best friend!" Claire shrieked, pulling her into a hug.
I was so excited when the bell rang to go home. And that Claire was hanging out with me today.
"Ready to go?" I called to Claire impatiently after politely giving her 4 whole minutes.
"Oh right!" she laughed.
Then she turned to Amarys and said, "Hey, you want to hang with me today?"
Just when I thought Claire was returning to be my usual friend, she invites Amarys. The popularity plan.
"Oh! Sorry Claire! I'd love to but my mom just texted and said I need to get home.
"Darn! Well I guess I'll see you tomorrow then!" She exclaimed.
And it had now been almost 30 minutes since the bell rang."Well it's a good thing you can drive," I sighed as we exited the building, "Because that bus is long gone."
"Like we'd ride the bus anyway!" She laughed. "We haven't done that since before my street was refined and we would shoot ketchup packets at Summer and Hilary!"
I laughed and then smiled at the memory.
It was times like these that I just loved Claire and knew I couldn't just stop being her friend.
Even if she had an obsession over being popular.

"Your turn," I said after my pay day land.
"If only real Life was this fun!" she laughed, licking the powdered Dorito dust off her fingers.
"Ha!" I laughed as she landed on Summer camp; pay 5,000 per kid.
"Are you kidding me?" she whined helplessly.
Just then her phone rang.
"Hang on it's Amarys," she said pressing it to her ear.
I try to keep my cool.
"Oh my gosh Amarys that's awful! Oh of course I'm coming right now!" she says standing up with an alarmed look.
"Amarys' parents were in a horrible car crash," she says, panicking. "Where are my keys?"
I feel awful for Amarys. I really do. Its just that I thought that maybe we were friends. Not her and Claire. But I guess I was wrong.
