As I read the list aloud I couldn't help but snicker at the last part.

Brett shook his head and sighed, simply saying, "This had better be worth it."

"Oh it will," I said evilly. One of my sometimes bad qualities is my really competitive attitude. But hey, if it makes me a winner it's worth it.

"Let's go then!" Trevor says hurrying us. "First up, the candy shop."

I couldn't help but smile at the memory of giant Reese's cups.

When Claire and I were younger, we used to go to Seaside together every summer. Reese's are basically her life, so I was really excited to surprise her with these giant slices of heaven, when we were only seven.

It was weird entering the candy shop with Brett and Trevor. I stared at the bright chipped paint lettering saying 'Candy Shop'. I remembered how clear it had been on one of the first times Claire and I went together.

We were both overly excited about the candy shop, although I hadn't mentioned the Reese's to her yet.

As Brett and Trevor rounded the back aisles, in search of the chocolates, my eyes focused on the bins full of assorted little candies we used to buy pounds of.

That day that Claire and I went, we'd both immediately made a run for these bins, and stuffed them full of sugar babies, Hershey kisses, and gummy worms, all of our favorites.

My family and I pretended like that was all we got there, and we proceeded to check out. I can just remember how difficult it was to keep my mouth shut about the 2 giant chocolate cups awaiting her in my moms bag.

"Got them!" Brett yelled loud enough for the whole store to here. His hands revealed the bright orange packaging that revealed the clean crisp cups, stuffed to the rim with peanut butter. Immediately the sight of them brought me to the memory of that night.

"I have a surprise!" I squealed jumping up and down, my pigtails flapping on my shoulders.

"What?!" she shouted, dancing around anxiously.

"These are for you," I said handing them to her.

Her eyes widened and she hugged me with all her strength.

"You are the best friend I've ever had!" she exclaimed. "We are going to be friends forever.

For years this was the happiest I'd ever been. I had really believed her, but now I worried that our friendship would disappear for good.

Brett and Trevor had already snapped a picture with the candy, and Brett was running them back.

"You okay?" Trevor asked, raising an eyebrow. "You seem kind of out of it."

"I'm just thinking," I sighed.

"Well could you think a bit faster?" Trevor exclaimed popping in between us. "Because Zach just texted me 4 pictures already!"
