LUCY,

Getting shook awake my eyes opened to an excited Kristin. "We landed! Wake up!" Yawning I took a peek out of the window. Sure enough, we were in London. A slight smile creeped upon my face, it feels nice to be back. Turning my phone on I checked the time, and saw it was four pm. Thankfully, I was asleep for most of the ten hours. Soon they gave an announcement about it being safe to get off the plane. We went through the motions of getting off and getting our luggage.
Noticing my duffel bag I quickly grabbed it along with my suitcase. "So where is your mom supposed to be?" Quickly checking my messages I see where my mum told me to be. "She's going to be right outside." Kristin nodded and gathered herself and things. "Onward!" Giggling we made our way outside. Looking around, I couldn't notice my mum in the sea of people. No matter how hard I focused I couldn't find her.

"Look! There she is!"

Kristin urgently pointed out to the left of everyone. Sure enough, there she was holding up a sign as high as she could. "Mum!" I yelled out to her as I grabbed Kristin's hand and ran over to her. Swiftly dodging bodies and stepping cautiously we made it over to her. Instantly I dropped my things and embraced her. A smile grew on my face and tears fell out of my eyes, "I missed you so much!" I yelped out through the muffled tears.
Even now, she still smells the exact same and I still get the warm feeling from her company. My mother was my rock for so long before I left for America. It's been five years too long, there's no way I go that long without visiting again. "I missed you too dear." She softly spoke into my ear as she rubbed my back. My mother left the embrace and opened the truck of her car. "This must be Kristin!" My mother excitedly said pulling her into a hug. Kristin hugged back, "It's so good to finally meet you in person!"
After a few moments we loaded up everything and got into the car. It was a thirty minute drive so Kristin used the time to take a nap while I just sat in silence. Before getting into talking about literally anything to my mum I just want some time to sit and think. There was so much to me and no way to say it. I mean, would she even really believe me? Understand me?

Getting to the house I lifted my head up, and my mother's house looks the exact same. It hasn't changed since the day I left. Leaning back I woke Kristin woke up. She yawned and stretched then got out. We got our things and headed inside. Getting into the living room we set our things down. "So Lucy you of course have your room, then Kristin you will be staying in Lily's old room." As soon as the words left my mother her eyes darted at me. As if she was waiting for my approval, and I sighed at her. "Mum, of course she can stay in Lily's room. This is Kristin we're talking about."
She nodded her head as a wave of relief came across her face. My mother left to the back of the house while I took Kristin upstairs. "To the left is your room and to the right is my room." Pointing to the door in front of us, "And that's the Jack and Jill bath." Kristin nodded and set her things in her room. Kristin gazed around the room, I set down my things in my room then followed her. "What's with the random posters?"

I chuckled as I looked around, and it did look a bit odd. A random assortment of posters hanging up in a plainly decorated guest room. "It was a.. compromise if you will. I was so tore up when Lily died that when my mum wanted to store everything I freaked out." Kristin chuckled, "So you let her store everything if she kept the posters up?" Nodding my head while giggling, "A bit silly, but I will say it makes me happy to see she still has them up." Kristin sat down on the bed as she began to unpack, "You expected her to take them down?"
Leaning against the door, "Honestly yeah, especially after I had left. But she didn't." Kristin continued unpacking, "Seems your mother still has surprises up her sleeve." I rolled my eyes chuckling and walked out the room. Heading into mine, I began to unpack as well. As much as I would rather do anything else, it needed to be done. And the sooner it gets done the better.
