Ladybug woke up and immediately noticed that her transformation had fallen during the night. She felt something pressed against her side and looked down to see her kwami fast asleep. Ladybug may not be on Chat's side anymore when it came to saving Paris, but she was a good person at heart and took pity on Tikki. She usually fed her kwami immediately after she detransformed, but she fell asleep and didn't get her a snack. Marinette reached in her bag to find a cookie to give Tikki and pulled out a pink macaroon.

"Tikki." Marinette gently shook the kwami awake. "Wake up sleepyhead. I've got a macaroon for you."

Tikki yawned and with a quick thank you, she took the yummy treat and devoured it.

"That was an interesting night Marinette. Master Fu was right to pick whoever is underneath the mask as Chat Noir. He truly is a kind person."

Marinette began to argue with her, but she stopped and sighed instead. "I know, Tikki. I don't want to hurt him, he truly is a kind person, but I need that ring." Suddenly Marinette's demeanor changed and a shadow of rage covered her face. "Adrien was kind too." She yelled to no one in particular. "He was kind and sweet and now he's dead!"

Marinette began to sob again. "He's dead Tikki. He's really dead." She whispered softly in between sobs as if just realizing that he was truly gone.

Tikki herself was confused by the whole idea of Adrien dying. She herself had seen Adrien fall to his death. She had even seen the body, but something was bothering her about the whole ordeal. She knew Adrien was Chat Noir, but Chat Noir was obviously still alive. Of course, the miraculous would have been passed on to someone else by now, but Chat Noir didn't seem any different than before. He was his same blonde-haired, green-eyed, flirty self. Tikki sighed and wondered if she should tell her owner. It was against the rules, but drastic times called for drastic measures.

"Marinette..." Tikki tentatively met Marinette's eyes. Lately, her owner had been... temperamental with some intense mood swings and Tikki didn't want to make her upset again. "...there's something you should know about Adrien."

At the mention of Adrien's name Marinette's eyes flashed with seething anger. "DON'T say his name." She gave the stunned kwami a glare and climbed down the ladder to her room. "And DON'T follow me."

Tikki sighed, she was used to Marinette's mood swings by now, and decided to give Marinette some space. She closed her eyes and settled down for a long nap on the balcony chair as her mind wandered to that terrible day. The day that changed both Marinette's life and her own forever.

6 Weeks Ago- Tikki's POV

"Hey Tikki!" Marinette greeted me as I flew out of her earrings. Ladybug had just detransformed and I was starving. My hunger was greeted with a cookie Marinette pulled out of her purse.

"Thanks, Marinette." I reached for the cookie and began to nibble on it. I looked around and saw that we were still on top of the Eiffel Tower. I looked below us and saw Adrien Agreste standing near the edge as well.

"Marinette, look who's here! Maybe this is your chance to finally tell him how you feel... or at least ask him to the movies?" Marinette followed my gaze and saw the blonde boy. She sighed and stared at him longingly.

Then she turned to Tikki. "I can't speak one sentence around him, let alone tell him how I feel. Plus, I know he loves another girl. It would just hurt both of us if I confessed."

Marinette turned back around to face Adrien, but he wasn't there anymore. "Adrien!" Marinette cried out and ran towards the spot she saw him in. I flew after her and looked down. That's when I saw him. He was falling, falling fast, towards the ground. He must've tripped over something and lost his balance before falling over the edge of the railing and off of the tower.

"Marinette! Come here. NOW!" My voice was uncommonly stern. Marinette looked at me with confusion as she made her way to where I was standing.

"Umm.. okay Tikki. What's wron-" She stopped mid-sentence and gasped. "Adrien!" She screamed down and reached a hand towards the falling boy as tears ran down her face. She was about to transform in an attempt to save the boy she loved when she saw that she was too late. He had already hit the ground.

Marinette sunk to her knees, paralyzed and in denial. "It's just a dream. It's just a dream. It's just a dream." She kept muttering to herself like a mantra. She wrapped her arms around her knees and began to sway back and forth as she continuously told herself it was just a dream. I began to cry out of sympathy for my owner as I attempted to bring her back to reality.

"Marinette. Marinette!" I yelled in her ear, I pinched her, I even slapped her a few times. I did anything I could to get her attention, but nothing worked. She was lost in her grief. I heard footsteps from behind me and with one last sympathetic glace towards Marinette, I flew into her bag where I wouldn't be seen.

Through the darkness of the bag, I couldn't see a thing, but I could hear everything around me. The footsteps I heard came from 3 men who claimed to be the police. They saw Marinette and one of them said that his daughter went to school with her. That must be Sabrina's dad! The three cops talked for a minute before I heard a set of footsteps come closer to us. A surprisingly soothing voice attempted to comfort Marinette, but she just kept muttering to herself and didn't acknowledge anything else going on around her.

The man said to his fellow policemen, "She's in shock. I can't blame her. Poor girl, she just saw someone fall to their death. I'll take her down and see if I can get ahold of her parents." I felt like I was being lifted into the air, so I assumed the nice cop had picked Marinette up to take her down to her parents.

I peeked out of the backpack and saw something, no, someone hiding behind a metal pole.

Rena Rouge.
