A/N: Okay, so this isn't really an important chapter. There's no plot progression at all and if you skip this, it would be fine. I just really wanted to write something new and this came into my head. It's just some insight into how I picture Tikki and Plagg's backstory. I've always loved how cute they were together, and this story is more focused on Adrien and Marinette, so there wasn't a good place to put my Plagg and Tikki ship (Cheesecake!). I love them together so much and just had to write about them, plus it was really fun coming up with a backstory! Enjoy!

Many years ago, all that existed on this planet was darkness. The earth was void of trees, light, and life except for one small creature. She was a young, red polka-dotted kwami that was the first sign of life earth had to offer. The poor little thing opened her eyes for the first time only to be greeted by darkness. There was nothing to entertain the young girl, so she squeezed her eyes shut and whispered to the world, "Can I have a friend? Please!" She slowly opened her eyes and saw a beautiful porcelain doll in front of her. The kwami didn't know it at the time, but that doll wasn't the product of the wish she made. It was something she created all by herself, and it wouldn't be the last thing she would create.

The kwami squealed with joy when she saw her new toy. She grabbed the doll by her arms and swung her around and around saying to her, "We're going to be good friends! Aren't we, Dolly?" She liked the way Dolly sounded, so she gave her that name. The kwami never gave herself a name because there was no one else there to use it.

Over the next few years, the kwami's powers of creation grew and she began to create more things. She made light, land, seas, and plants. The once empty earth was filled with stunning landscapes and gorgeous sights. She made so many things for herself to enjoy, but she could never fill a part of her heart that remained empty. The kwami knew why a part of her heart was empty. She was lonely. Dolly was a great friend, but she had some flaws. The main one being that she couldn't talk. This made it very difficult for the kwami to have a conversation with her. She tried to create someone like her but was never successful. No matter how many times she closed her eyes and imagined a friend that could talk, every time she opened them she found she had only managed to create another inanimate doll. The poor kwami was growing frustrated at her lack of success.

One day, she was having lunch with Dolly (her favorite doll). She looked at her friend and politely asked, "Would you like some more tea, Dolly?" The kwami took the doll's silence as a yes and gently lifted the cup of tea to the doll's mouth. Obviously Dolly couldn't drink, so when the kwami tipped the cup a little too far, the tea just ran down Dolly's face and fell onto the ground. This sent the kwami over the edge. She was frustrated that she couldn't create someone like her - someone who could talk, move, and eat - no matter how hard she tried.

Out of frustration, she picked up the doll and threw her to the ground. With a loud crash, Dolly's fragile porcelain head shattered into hundreds of pieces. The kwami gasped when she realized she had destroyed her friend and broke down in tears. "Oh, Dolly! I didn't mean to! I'm so sorry I destroyed you." She knelt beside the porcelain shards and sobbed with regret and guilt. This was the first time she had destroyed anything. She had never even broken so much as a blade of grass. The kwami had only created things before. Destruction wasn't in her nature.

Suddenly, she heard a noise behind her. It was a familiar noise, but she couldn't quite place where she had heard it before. It wasn't the noise of wind blowing through the trees or water rushing through a stream. It sounded like... her? She recognized the noise because it sounded like her. She turned around to find a small black creature curled up in a ball. It made another noise and started to get up. With a squeal, she backed away from the mysterious creature and hid behind the table she had been eating lunch at.
