Peter's POV
The bell echoed through the hallways of the school and I jumped up, clutching the note for the winter formal in my hand. Who would go to the winter formal with me?
"I would like to remind everyone that you can take anyone to the formal, and nobody is going to judge you, no matter who you bring or why you bring them," Ms Rachel reminded everyone, staring at Flash and is gang pointedly, as if to remind them that bullying was not allowed at this school. I began walking home and stopped a few blocks away to wait for Aunt Nat to pick me up. A few seconds later, a sports car was screeching to a halt beside me, and Aunt Nat rolled down the window, resting her elbow on it.
"Come on, Little Spider. There's a prank war going on, and I want you on my team," Aunt Nat smirked, and I grinned. Prank war on the opposite side of Uncle Clint? I still had to get back at him and Uncle Bucky for spraying me with bug spray the other day. I literally leapt into the car and yelled at Aunt Nat to punch it. We were at Stark Tower in record time.
A few hours later
The prank war had been a short and swift attack from both sides and it had ended quickly in a resounding defeat for Uncle Clint's Team.
"Dad, winter formal is coming up, and I'm gonna get Aunt May to sign the note for me, is that okay?" I asked my dad while we were tinkering on his suit.
"Yep. Sure. Uh huh. Who are you taking?" He asked, just as Aunt Nat marched into the room with a triumphant grin plastered on her face.
"Little Spider, guess what?" She grinned at me mischievously, "Barton fell for it!"
"No way!" I laughed, and she ruffled my hair before walking out. Suddenly, an idea began forming in my mind, "Aunt Nat, will you go to the Winter Formal with me?"
"I don't think-" Dad started to object, but Aunt Nat shushed him with a steely glare.
"Yes, Little Spider, I would love to go with you," She said, and I grinned, throwing myself at her and enveloping my amazing aunt in a bear hug.
A few more hours later
"AUNT NAAAT!" I yelled, and in a few seconds, my Aunt was at my bedroom door and looking around frantically for the person who hurt me, "No, it's okay, I'm fine. Check out this article I found!" I grinned. The title was: If Spiders worked together, they could eat all humans in a year.
I glanced at Aunt Nat. She was grinning.
The next day, Peter is at May's house
"Hey, Aunt May, I'm home!" I yelled, stomping my feet really loudly, "Oh wow, MY FOOTSTEPS ARE SO LOUD! WHOOPS! I DROPPED A VASE! AND NOW I'M WALKING TO YOUR ROOM TO GIVE YOU A HUG AND I HOPE I DON'T SEE ANYTHING THAT WILL SCAR ME FOREVER!"
"Happy's not here, Peter, if that's what you mean," Aunt May yelled back, and I promptly ran to her bedroom and hugged her.
"Missed you," I murmured. It had been months since I had seen Aunt May, as dad had found more and more chances to stay at the tower and work, which would have been a good thing, except for the fact that I couldn't see Aunt May much.
"Larb you," She grinned, and I ran back to the benchtop where I had left the note for her to sign.
"Can you sign this for me?" I asked. Mum and dad couldn't sign any notes, because they weren't listed as my parent/guardian in the school records, and if the Tony Stark or Pepper Potts signed a note, it would arouse way too much suspicion.
Last time, it had earnt me a detention.
"Ooooh, winter formal, who are you taking?" Aunt May teased, wiggling her eyebrows for effect.
"Aunt Nat," I said, blushing, and she grinned before ruffling my hair.
"Good luck," She said, before walking to the phone to order pizza. We had already officially decided that Aunt May was a terrible cook, and that she could never do anything right, which meant pizza for dinner at Aunt May's.
A few hours later, I was lying on my bed, my stomach full from the pizza and my mind content after patrol. I was still wondering why Aunt May had said good luck to me when I said I was taking Aunt Nat. Even dad had been nervous about me taking Aunt Nat to winter formal, but I didn't see the problem.
Aunt Nat would be fine in a high school winter formal surrounded by hundreds of crazy, probably very drunk teenagers. With that thought, I fell into a deep, dreamless sleep.
The next day, I got slightly carried away with patrol and came home at 1:30, which was three hours past curfew. I bit my lip and crawled up the wall to Aunt May's apartment, before sliding the window open and creeping inside. The kitchen light was on, so I shouted, "May! I'm home"
Suddenly, the swivel chair on my desk turned, revealing dad in his classic cargo pants, stark industries shirt, leather jacket, sunglasses and military boots. "Hi home, I'm disappointed," Dad smirked, and I tried to back away. I was in so much trouble.
