"Ned, I can't just walk up to Happy and get into the car. Not what you call inconspicuous," I reasoned.

"But... everyone knows your Mr Stark's intern, does it really matter?" Ned asked, still not believing the fact that Happy had just parked in the middle of the school parking lot to pick me up, and I still had no idea why. Happy was always supposed to pick me up at least two streets away, and never wait for me longer than two minutes. Yet, there he was, leaning against the door of the car and tapping furiously on his phone. Suddenly, my phone started vibrating furiously.

*Texts from Happy*

Harodhogan: what are you doing standing there, kid

Haroldhogan: we gotta go

Haroldhogan: kid? r u ok?

I frowned, staring at my phone. What had caused the change in pickup schedule today that I didn't know about? It all seemed suspicious, except for the fact that my spidey sense was not tingling, and that my phone started blasting AC/DC. A blush spread over my cheeks, and I gingerly told Karen to answer the call.

"Kid? Happy's gonna pick you up today. We need everyone we can get over here, just put on your suit before you come inside the tower. There's been... a problem of sorts. You got that underoos? Happy's gonna pick you up. Put your suit on before you go inside the tower, okay? Underoos?"

"Uh, yeah, Mr Stark. Got it," I muttered, realising that people were now staring at me even after AC/DC was turned off.

I closed my eyes and waited for a few seconds, willing everyone to walk away and ignore me like they used to, so they wouldn't see me walking to one of dad's conspicuous cars. Well, as close to conspicuous as a Mercedes model that wasn't even available in America yet. Why did everyone have to choose to pay attention to me at the wrong time?

I groaned and gave Ned a one armed hug before walking to Happy, feeling the eyes of everyone at the gate boring into my head. I closed my eyes, trying to become invisible and cursing spiders for not having the ability to disappear. I used my Spidey senses to navigate to the car and slid into the seat as smoothly as my nervousness would allow.

Happy nodded, which was the only sign that he knew I was inside the car, and climbed into the driver's seat. I noticed that the soundproof screen was up. Happy had given up using it years ago, when he finally revealed that he had a soft spot for me. I heard Happy's muffled voice talking to someone on the phone, but thanks to dad's impeccable invention, I still couldn't hear what he was saying through the screen.

Finally, Happy lowered the screen, his eyebrows creased and the wrinkles on his forehead (which I had completely forgotten about) began to show. I narrowed my eyes, trying to read what was going on in the part of his face that I could see in the rear-vision mirror. Finally recognising defeat, I slumped back onto my seat and closed my eyes again, focusing on the sounds around me. I had recently found out that it was a great way to keep myself entertained and figure out my abilities to their best extent. I was focusing on a woman's conversation with another woman whom I assumed to be her fiancé when Happy rapped on the window.

"Kid, get the-" His voice dropped "- suit on and get out"

I sighed and fished out my 'toy' spider and placed it on my chest, and it instantly expanded into the iron spider suit. I opened the car door, and stepped out into the private garage of Stark Industries. I smiled to myself, grateful that dad was so rich. What would I do without him?

I followed Happy to the elevator and he asked F.R.I.D.A.Y to take us up to the 100th floor. I blinked in surprise. The top floor was included in dad's penthouse, which meant that this meeting was either an avengers meeting, or an avengers meeting, which ruled out a lot of options.
