Chapter 7

"Medic!" I hear Alaric yell

"I'm fine I think I just pulled a muscle," I say holding it and setting it in place so it will heal right and everyone is freaking out around me

"Your wrist snapped I saw it," Maya says and Ethan rushes to my side and moves my left hand away from my right arm and I thank every god there is that it's pretty much healed already

"See it's fine just kind of tender," I say as he gently moves and rotates my arm and he sighs relieved

"Don't scare me like that" he says and I nod and look around for the person who looks guilty and am shocked to see it is Josie

"I'm going to the bathroom," I say and Josie jumps up

"I'll show you the way," she says and Maya gets up and follows us

"M can you give us a minute I need to talk to her," I say and she nods

"I'll be in the hall if you need back up just yell," she says and I smile

"Are you sure your ok?" Josie asks me

"If I didn't have vampire blood in my system that spell you did could have done serious damage. It snapped the bone in my arm and ripped through the muscle surrounding it. If you had done that to our actual quarterback he would have had to have surgery to fix the muscle, maybe put a rod in his arm and been in a cast for 8 to 10 weeks. His football season would have been over his scholarship gone and he'd probably never be able to throw the same again. You shouldn't be using expression it isn't safe, it isn't even magic. What are they teaching you here?" I say and she looks shocked

"That was expression?" she says both shocked and scared and I'm honestly relieved she has no clue which means she probably isn't practicing

"Yes I'm Hope Marshall I'm from New Orleans there's a lot of witches there some practice. I don't but I can recognize when it's used against me" I say and she looks afraid

"Josie Saltzman I was just given the spell I had no clue what it was or what it would do," she says and I nod

"Your Dad's Principal Saltzman right call him or your mom tell them what happened and who gave it to you they'll help you," I say and she nods as I leave and see Maya waiting on the wall across from the bathrooms when we got back the game was over we won and we pile back onto the bus

"Marshall, you celebrating with us tonight or are you going to ditch us for Machado?" Dennis asks from in front of me on the bus

"I wouldn't if I could parties aren't really my thing especially house parties and yes I'm ditching you for Machado Maya and I are having a girls night and probably doing a ton of shopping tomorrow," I say hooking my arm with Mayas and we get off the bus

"Have fun don't get too drunk" I yell to basically everyone on the bus and Maya and I start walking to my apartment

"So you live here alone? That must be lonely" She says and I shrug

"I used to like being alone when my parents died I isolated myself didn't let anyone get to know me and kept people at arms distance then things happened I let people in and I got hurt when I went to school Monday I had a plan I was going to wear a mask and just get through the year you can tell how well that worked," I say and she looks shocked

"Just cause your old friends let you down doesn't mean me and Ethan will," she says and I smile

"I know you want a pizza?" I ask

"Um Sure your not weird about your pizza right no Pineapples or vegetables," she asks and I laugh

"um double pepperoni extra cheese," I say and she smiles
