Chapter 11

"So are you a cheerleader like Maya," she asks me

"No I'm actually on the football team," I say

"Really well you do have a good arm she taking your spot Ethan?" She jokes

"I'm lucky she's fast actually otherwise she probably would have my spot," he says and I roll my eyes

"Says the boy who already has a football scholarship," I say and we all laugh and eat then afterward the three of us play catch in the backyard

"Are you wearing my shirt?" E asks after like 10 minutes of catch Maya starts laughing and I roll my eyes

"It's what she gave me," I say and we hang around for a little while before Ethan drives me home

"So you need a ride to school tomorrow?" he asks

"That would be great actually just try to keep Maya from waking me too early and if you can't make sure I have coffee," I say and he nods and we sit there looking at each other awkwardly for a minute before I surprise us both and kiss him and it's amazing but we break apart too soon

"You should go up I know your not ready" he says and I smile

"I'm getting there though thanks to you," I say and I really mean it 

"You want to go on a date with me Tuesday a movie or something?" I ask and he smirks

"Your asking me out? I thought we were going to go in circles for a month before I broke and asked you out" he says and I roll my eyes and kiss him quickly before heading up to my apartment and squealing as soon as I close the door who even am I right now I've never really been the kind of girl to get overly excited about a boy I'm not Lizzie Saltzman and then out of nowhere it hits  me I'm happy. For the first time since I came back I'm actually happy, and I don't miss Landon as much. I go to bed excited about seeing Ethan again and I wake up to Maya shaking me awake and I groan but take the coffee and change into whatever outfit she gives me and let her do whatever she wants to my hair and makeup before I get in the truck between her and Ethan

"You ok?" E asks me

"I'm tired" I whine and lean on him as he drives and then he kisses me which wakes me a bit when we get there

"Why are they here?" Maya asks seeing Landon and Rafael

"Probably to see Principal Saltzman," I say and E puts his arm around me as he walks me to class and kisses me. Then halfway through first period Alaric gets me from class and leads me to Landon, Rafe, who is locked in a car Josie, and some man speaking Japanese.

"Why is she here?" Josie asks in a bitchy voice and I roll my eyes I honestly don't know why she hates me so much I mean I haven't even spoken to Landon since I've come back and for all, she knows I've never met him before and I haven't acted on anything towards him since I came back

"Yeah I was about to ask the same question no offense Principal Saltzman, but I chose not to go to the Salvatore school for a reason. I'll help you out when you ask and need it, but I don't really want to be involved in this stuff I have class and practice. I want to at least pretend to be normal" I say and Rafael busts out of the car and tackled the Japanese guy and I jump away. We have to take him to Alaric's office and I have to put up a barrier because Jo doesn't have her own magic, then I go to check on Landon before lunch and I get attacked and knocked unconscious. When I wake up Josie is pissed that I lost him but I ignore her and answer my phone thats vibrating in my pocket.

"Yeah?" I ask

"Hey where are you why did the principal get you from class you missed lunch?" Ethan asks and I sigh

"I'm not feeling the best so I texted him and asked if he can pull me out so I can rest a bit. I think I'm just gonna go home and try to rest" I say

"You need me to drive you? I can blow off my last few classes so you aren't alone" he asks worriedly and I smile 

"No you need to stay in class he said he can drive me can you maybe get my homework for me though?" I ask

"Of course I'll drop by after practice and see if your ok if you're still feeling bad we can reschedule our date tomorrow," he says and I smile

"That's sweet E and you're a life saver but I'm sure I just need some sleep I'll see you tonight," I say and hang up before turning to Josie who is very annoyed with me

"Who was more important than a possessed Landon?" she asks 

"A guy I'm kinda into he's human so he wouldn't understand me just leaving without an explanation," I say and she huffs but I can tell she's slightly relieved. We do a locator spell and find him dead and Lizzie chained to a tree acting crazy I do little to nothing and ask myself why I needed to be involved. Then as I'm walking home Ethan pulls up beside me

"Hey you ok?" Ethan asks rolling down his window

"Yeah just went walking to clear my head" I say

"Well I got your homework and picked you up some soup," he says and I smile

"Thanks that's sweet," I say and climb in his truck and he drives us to my apartment and we start doing homework before we end up putting on a movie and cuddling on the couch till he has to go home and I go to bed
