After so many battles and trouble, it was nice to finally have a moment of serenity. Christmas is a good time, with compassion, happiness...and memes. Matt was determined to make your first Christmas in your new house memorable, so he invited the squad (and by Allura's request Lotor, although he still doesn't like that guy).
It was your first Christmas since he finally stopped working as an intern at Galra Inc, he never received payment for his work, since it was all to pay off the debt his family owed to the company. He, Shiro and his father were slaves, who knew you could owe so much money for trespassing. Fortunately, everything got better when L.I.O.N.S co. raised enough capital to repay the debt and hired him as a technology specialist. You two were grateful, especially now that you had your place.
You worked as a secretary, financial manager and spy for Allura for a long time, and now you saw them all as a family. Even though they're adults paying off debts and running a company, they've never stopped being a bunch of goofballs. You love them. You were in the kitchen decorating cookies to make them look like reindeer, while Matt and Pidge made the filling for a pumpkin pie, a recipe from the Holt family.
"Hey, (y/n)," Matt called.
"Hm?" you smiled, without taking your eyes off the cookies.
"You are my fire," he sang with dramatic poses.
"Oh no," you said giggling and turning your gaze to them.
"Oh yes!" Pidge picked up a spoon to fake a microphone, "The one desire~~"
"Believe when I say!" Matt was now singing with a roll of parchment paper.
"I want it that way!" Pidge kept going.
You laughed and took a piping bag as a microphone, "TELL ME WHY!"
"Ain't nothin' but a heartache!" they both sang waving their arms in the air.
"TELL ME WHY!"
"Ain't nothin' but a mistake!"
"NOW NUMBER FIVE!" this time you three sang "I never wanna hear you say, I want it that way!"
"The Brooklyn Nine-Nine version? Really?" Keith walked into the kitchen with his arms crossed.
"Sorry, Edgylord, I forgot you only listen to 'The Black Parade'," you teased. He stared at you, you stared back with a smug face. Until he gave up and smirked.
"Where's Lance?" he asked.
"Your boyfriend~~, Hunk, and Tómas went to buy materials to make a gingerbread house," Pidge said, putting a spotlight on 'boyfriend'.
"'It's not Christmas without a gingerbread house!'" You, Matt and Pidge spoke in harmony, imitating the offended voices of the three boys.
