For the next two years I didn't speak a single word to ray or rosie. It seemed even rosie had decided to not hold a grudge and everything went back to Normal and I completey forgot about the jacket thing untill if the second week back in year ten I saw ray. I was walking out of the library when I collided with someone and fell to the floor. Ray held out a hand to help me up and when I looked up and saw it was her I stuttered out unnecessary apologies and she chucked. "it's fine, seriously it's my fault- I wasn't even looking where I was going.. Ooh you scraped your knee. I'm so sorry! In fact-" she pulled out a piece of paper, scrawling a number down. "here is my number, to make it up to you I'll buy you lunch." I nodded, relief washing over me as I wouldn't have to put up with her jealous girlfriend as she didn't have my number so I could "loose hers".. As if reading my mind she pulled out her phone. "In fact, you tell me your number." and that was how I ended up spending my Saturday with her.

She texted me later that night, to arrange the unnecessary "lunch" and after many failed excuses I gave in and agreed to meet her outside the park at 11 am on Saturday. I was actually nervous and excited at the same time, and decided to call jehanne about it. She obviously wasn't impressed but was happy for me all the same. I woke up on Saturday really early and even though I was tingling with anticipation, I was dreading what was to come.

At half past ten I walked to the park near the school and leaned against the brick wall looking down at my feet nervously, she made me so uneasy, as cheesy as it sounds. I had decided to dress casually in my ripped jeans and nirvana t-shirt, deciding I couldn't go wrong. "hey." I looked up to see ray running a hand through her hair with a smile. "hi." I stood awkwardly untill she broke the silence. "I er thought we could go somewhere local, not too fancy?" I nodded and she smiled. We walked through the town to a blue restraunt called "driftwood". We walked in and it was small, but not cramped, with only about fifteen people. We sat down at a table by the window, with a perfect view of the sea. "I've never been here before.. It's nice." I stated, looking out of the window. "yeah. I like it. I work here on Tuesdays from 4-7, it's not big, but it's comfortable." "ray? Who's this lovely lady?" a boy said walking over and winking at me, but in a friendly way. "oh. Uh. My friend from school, nala. Nala this is cameron, he's nineteen" "hello." I smiled warmly at him. He had ginger hair and bright blue eyes. "I thought you were going out with rosie?" he said with a frown and ray blushed "yeah, I am. We're just friends." she reassured him, glancing at me quickly with a grin. "well ok. What do you guys want?" "hmm." ray picked up the menu "I'll have lasagne and a strawberry milkshake please." she turned to me "what do you want?" "oh- uh.." I looked at the menu quickly. "fish and chips and a diet coke please." cameron nodded scrawling it down in his waitors notpad. "it'll take about tell minutes." he mumbled walking away.
