Dont Tell My Dad

Mika had a rough time sleeping that night. And just when he finally fell asleep Fortune came barging into his room and jumped onto his bed.

"So, you wanna go get lunch?" Fortune asked his exhausted brother.

"Lunch? What time is it?" He asked as he looked at his phone. "11:30?' Fortune, I didn't get any sleep."

"Well I'm hungry, so please?!"

"Fine, fine. Just let me get dressed."

They got lost on their way to the restaurant that they wanted to go to when Fortune yelled to Mika, "Mika stop!"

Mika rushed to the side of the road and yelled at Fortune, "what the hell?! What's wrong with you?" Mika was shouting at Fortune as Fortune jumped out of the car towards a boy with his head down walking in their direction.

Fortune rushed up to the boy, "Ezra?" he asked with a concerned look on his face. Ezra slowly lifted his head up and then buried his bruised face into Fortunes shirt and started to break down. They both fell to the ground as Fortune comforted Ezra.

"Ezra, what happened?" Mika asked.

Ezra just kept crying into Fortune ignoring Mika's question. Mika knelt down and put his hand on Ezra's shoulder.

"Don't tell my dad. Please!" Ezra begged the both of them.

"Ezra I think he's going to find out when he sees your face. Now what happened?" Mika asked again. Ezra continued to ignore Mika's question. Mika sighed, "well do you want us to take you home?"

Ezra shook his head 'no.'

"We were just heading to get lunch. Did you wanna join us?" Fortune asked Ezra. Ezra nodded as Fortune helped him to his feet and sat in the back of the SUV with him. When Mika got in the car he turned and gave Fortune a confused look. Fortune shrugged at Mika still leaving him confused.

While at a stop light Mika turned around and saw what to him was the most shocking thing in the world, Fortune held Ezra's hand in his on his lap. Mika turned around shocked and confused as he took off from the light.

---at the restaurant---

"I'm going to go to the bathroom," Ezra stated as he left Mika and Fortune at the table.

Mika stared at Fortune.

Fortune stared back.

"So...are you...gay?" Mika finally broke the silence. Fortune kept his head down avoiding eye contact with Mika. "Fortune?"

"Yea," Fortune nervously said finally looking up at Mika just as Ezra arrived back from the bathroom. They both smiled at Ezra as he sat down and they placed their orders.

"Is your dad going to be mad at you for leaving school?" Fortune asked.

"I'm pretty sure I don't have to answer that," Ezra laughed nervously as Fortune smiled at him.

"You two are weird," Mika started shoving his sandwich in his mouth.
