Chapter 7: getting to know each other

Violet POV:
We were still on top if each other. Suddenly a tall, muscular with blond hair walked into the living room.

"Woah am I interrupting something here" the blond hair guy said. I quickly got up and fixed myself, trying to act like nothing happen.

"Get out of here Richard" Blake said while he chuckles. So his name is Richard. He put his hand up like he was surrender and chuckle as he walk out of the living room.

"You know, you look cute when you blush" he stated

I was froze when he said that. I could feel my face heating up even more. I just stand up and ran up the stairs to my bedroom

Its the first night Im spending here and I couldn't sleep. My mind wouldn't stop replaying the moment Blake and I almost kissed. It makes me wonder, what would happen if Richard didn't interrupted us?

Why do I feel so cheap? Its only my first day here and Im already acting like some hoe. Gosh get you mind straight Violet. Jacob will get me out of here. He promised. I was deep into my thoughts when I heard a knock on my door. I got up and open it.

"Can't sleep?" The familiar husky voice said.

I just nod my head. He was only wearing his shorts, that was hanging low on his waist. Showing off his 6 pack. You could tell he works out often.

"Wanna go for a walk" he finally said while smirking as if he knew I was checking him out.

"I'm not taking a no for an answer. Get dress, meet me down at 5" I didn't even get a chance to answer and he walks away.

I looked at the time, it's 2 am in the morning. I didn't even realise it was so late in the morning. I tied my hair in a messy bun and wore my brother's oversized hoodie with bikers shorts underneath.

When I reach the last step of the stairs, he was already there, leaning against the wall while texting someone on the phone. He was wearing a black hoodie with blue ripped jeans and a black nerdy specs. It looked cute on him. I didn't know he wears specs.

Finally when he looked up from his phone,he smiled at me. Showing his perfectly white teeth and his dimples. Damn i didn't realise his smile until now. I guess he rarely smile.

We were walking along the road. It was peaceful and quiet. Well that's probably because we were the only ones awake at this timing right now. It's crazy how he does not feel awkward. The fact that we almost kissed. He acts like nothing happens.

"About just now" oops I spoke too soon "Remember the game I said, where we could ask each other any question and be brutally honest? Yea let's get to know each other. No lies no nothing. Between us" he explains

"Why would the leader of the gang even cares?" I curiously asked

"Well i usually dont give a damn about anything but work. However, you interest me Violet." He explained. " Now lets start. Since you already ask the first question, Its my turn. Whats your favourite colour?" He asked

"Why does my favourite colour even matter to Black Ryder?" I chuckle

"Because Im interested in getting to know more about you, Violet Grace." He said

Through out the walk we started asking each other simple questions. Getting to know little bit more about each other. I didnt realise how much I miss being close him. Before Xavier and I started dating, three of us would always hang out together. He was technically my childhood crush. We known each other for a long time. Since we were kids because we used to be neighbours and go to school together. Eventually I moved to Jacob's apartment after Xavier and I broke up and they moved too I guess. Blake was like an older brother I never had. Well other then Jacob of course.

We decided to sit at the bench that was facing the lake. We sit crossed legged, facing each other.

"You know I really miss you Violet. I miss having you around" he said while playing with his fingers

I remember a small little detail about Blake. Whenever he was nervous, he always plays with his fingers. I Guess some things never change huh? But why was he nervous?

"Honestly, ever since you left, things was different. Xavier and I are always fighting. We kinda drifted. He changed and always gets on my nerves." He said

"You know he never really tell me why you guys broke up. He just said you left. But i know that can't be true. Considering the fact that you really loved him"

I just froze. The flashback of seeing him in bed with another girl. I tried to stop the tears from rolling down. I never actually talked about this to anyone, not even Jacob. Because it hurts. I rather just forget about it.

"Hey hey hey, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to okay?" He comforts me while he takes my hand and slowly rubbing it gently.

I nod my head. It's time to let my feelings out once and for all.

"We have been together for 2 years. I loved him a lot. I thought he was the one I will be marrying. But on our 2nd anniversary I wanted to surprise him. But the day before, I actually wanted to bring him out. But he told me he wasnt feeling well and couldnt spend the anniversary together. So I decided to surprise him at his house. I got ready the chocolate and balloons. When I reached, there was a girls shoe outside of the house. I knew it was a girl because the shoe size looked small. But I didnt let that bother me and decided to go up his room. When I open his bedroom door, there he was making out with another girl. I instantly drop everything. I could feel my whole heart shattered into millions of pieces. I'll never forget that day, the look on his face when he was kissing the girl. As if he didnt think about me. He had the audacity to lie to me. After everything we have been through."

I didn't realise I was crying until Blake wipes my tears away. He looked so soft. So worried. So gentle. As if he cares.

"You don't have to think about him anymore okay? I'm here for you-"

Before he get to finish his sentence, we heard gun shots. And people shouting. BANG BANG
