It was dawning night time again, this time it was raining cats and dogs and the roads were soon becoming slippery and wet.

Their gas was running low and Harper was nearly tired from driving all day---they need to find another close motel soon so he could at least rest for a bit.

Harper moved his drowsy gaze from the drizzly window onto his side, Jack was napping beside him---his head was leaned on the shotgun window, snoring quietly.

He gazed at the front mirror, taking a brief look at the quiet boy at the passenger seat.

Unlike Jack, Sonny was wide awake, eyes lost in thought at the dripping raindrops outside.

"Jack's a nice guy," he spoke, focusing back on the road. "He might be like that but he has a good heart."

The long-haired boy wanted to say that since a while ago, but he waited for Jack to fall asleep.

Sonny moved his head towards his direction, looking down immediately at his lap once he heard those words, "I---I was just shocked, that's all."

Harper sighed, so desperate to lit a cigarrette right now. "Well, you are not the only one running from the law, Sonny."

He saw the other glanced at him questioningly, but Sonny chose to not say anything. Harper momentarily closed his eyes, glad that the other understood.

Suddenly, he felt a hand grip tightly at his own, desperately stirring the steering wheel to the side.

"Look out!" Sonny shouted at him, making Harper glanced at the road, his eyes widening.

He quickly stepped on the breaks, their car sliding ungracefully into the slicked road.

He heard Jack curse when the breaks went in and the other's head slammed hard at the shotgun window, "What the fuck, Harper!"

Their car was put into a halt, Harper breathing in a sigh of relief once he saw there was no other vehicle close by.

He did not heed to his best friend's angry and annoyed complain, choosing to point out to the front outside of their car quietly.

Once Jack glanced at his direction, the other gasped and instantly panicked.

Under the rainy dimly streets, there was a man laying cold, so close under the front headlights of their vehicle.
