"Shit. Shit. Shit." Sonny heard Jack cursed out, sinking in what just happened.
Sonny's previous tired eyes were now on high alert, his heart beating fast and rapid. Him and Jack quickly went out of the car, uncaring of the heavy rain that tremendously pour on them.
Harper parked their car towards the side road, following them afterwards over the unconscious body.
Jack checked the man's pulse, holding the other's wrist to feel for any sign of heartbeat. After a few seconds, Sonny heard him sigh in relief, "He's alive."
Sonny thanked the heavens---he honestly does not want anymore blood in his hands.
Jack tried to wake the collapsed person up but he only received weak whimpers. Sonny sat closer to Jack and the body, glancing at one another before nodding.
He placed his hands on the laying man's armpits, directing Jack to move over his feet. They pulled the man up together, Jack pushing him towards Sonny as he carried the unconscious one in a bridal pose.
The man was lighter than he thought, Sonny could literally feel the other's bony arms and legs as he placed him over the passengers seat.
Harper gave him some towels, drying himself off and the stranger with it. Jack and Harper went back to their seats, the latter immediately turning the key to start the engine.
They drove quietly back into the dark, dripping road.
Sonny gave the unconscious man a brief look.
Now that they were inside the car---with a little light glowing from the inside---he noticed how pale and sickly the other was.
He has fading, messy dyed blonde locks, his cheekbones and jawline protruding from his lack of weight and Sonny could not help the gasp to escape from his mouth when he saw the lines of scars carved over the other's arms.
Some were healing, some looked fresh and his worry and nervousness contined when the self-inflicted scars etched from underneath the man's sleeves.
Sonny fixed some of the man's tangled hair, sighing as he checked the cuts again, 'My, what did this poor man underwent to?'
