No one really prepares you for the end of the world in schools these days. Yes they might teach you about nuclear explosions and to go in a bunker and all that shaz. But no one really prepares you for a zombie apocalypse, yes there is a million movies and books about zombie apocalypses and why the worlds go to shit so quickly but when it actually happens and the panic swirls the world, what can you do but run and hide?

1 year ago (The Outbreak and The Entering)

*BEEEEP BEEEP BEEP BEEEEEEP BEEEEP* My eyes opened quickly to the annoying noise of my alarm clock going off next to me. I sighed rolling over in my comfortable bed and saw my alarm flashing for 6am.  I groaned shutting off the alarm and sat up in my bed, looking across the room to the window that showed a night sky still. I rubbed my eyes and slowly uncovered my legs, went to get up when a pair of arms reach around my waist and pulled me back in bed. I shrieked a little as my boyfriend laughed in his sleepy voice. He pulled me closely rubbing his face into my neck and kissed it gently, as I giggled.

"Please don't go.." He whispered in my ear softly as I smiled brightly, leaning in and kissing his lips gently. He pulled me closer, wrapping my arms around his back.

"hmmm." He moaned slightly, as I pulled away gasping and laughing. His brown eyes opened slowly as a small smirk was upon his face. I slowly sat up, my long brown hair messy in my face as I gave him a look.

"You always do this to me babe, I can't be late today. I promise we will spend all day tomorrow on my day off." He smiled grabbing the pillow, putting it back under his head as he laid naked in our bed with the sheet just barely over his hips. My eyes went down to his body admiring how handsome he was and how lucky i was to have someone as gorgeous as he was.

"Alright darling, ill come to you on your lunch then eh? He said as his accent came rolling off his tongue. I shook my head and smiled. I turned and walked in the bathroom and turned on the shower. I stripped my clothes off quickly and got in, washing my body and hair. I began washing my face when a quick flash of red came over my eyes making me almost fall out the shower.

"Octi love you alright?" I heard Damon's voice come in my head as I stuck my head out the shower to look in on him but he was sleeping. I tilted my head in confusion and turned the shower off. I stepped outside the shower putting the towel around me as my whole body was filled with goosebumps.

What the hell is was that?

I thought as I turned and looked into the mirror of my bathroom seeing my beautiful face looking back at me. My long brown hair that came down to the middle of my chest, my perfect tan skin that showed no pimples and markings on, and my unusual eyes. I have heterochromia which means one iris is a different color than another. My left eye is a light brown and my right eye is a pale blue. something I inherited from my father who I never meet due to the fact he was dead before I was born, from what my mother had said. I sighed getting around for the day and went to my shitty job as a RN of constant hearing of pain and suffering.

7 Hours later

"Octavia you can take your lunch now." I looked up from my med cart and it was my best friend/supervisor Dimitri. I smiled shaking my head as I closed the door and locked it. I took a deep breath grabbing my phone seeing my boyfriend texted me saying he was outside waiting for me. I grabbed my coat off the rack in the back of our break room when I heard a strange noise coming from one the back lockers. I slowly walked in the back further and saw nothing but lockers on the wall. I looked around, no movement sounds came in so I decided to turn around and leave but instead a locker door slowly opened. I stood there slowly breathing a little heavier than usual, turned around to see locker number 6 opened, slowly swaying back and forth.

I got the courage to walk over to it slowly as I peeked in the locker. There was nothing inside but a large old fashion book. I looked around to make sure no one was really here and when I found none I reached in the locker and grabbed the book. when I looked at the book, the book had no title on it, but the book was made of such a beautiful black velvet I sat there and rubbed my hand upon it. it seemed when I did a strange light wind brushed against my cheek. I smiled softly as I slowly opened the book and there was only one sentence printed on the page that made my breath stop and my heart race.

And now Octavia, you must save us all.

I moved the pages in the book notching all the pages were blank. I shook my head in confusing, going back to the first page and noticed the words had changed. When i began to read the words the lights in the room began flickering. I gasped as the words began writing more into the

I'm so sorry for what you're gonna have to endure, but it's time you knew the truth..

With that being scribbled into the page into the page a bright light surrounded me and a loud siren filled my ears, with the sound of millions of people screaming. It felt like my body was falling into a hot bright abyss of nothing. I screamed out in fright as my body seemed to hit the ground and everything went dark and quiet.
