I watched Dimitri run quietly to a tree that wasnt far away from the Porsche he had told me minutes before we were gonna go past to get to his vehicle which wasn't that far away. He waited a moment as he kept peeking out the side to make sure none of the zombies were watching. I saw him take another big deep breath, he snuck behind a hill bank and then over on the side if the resturant which was practically next to his red BMW. He slowly got in the passenger side looking in the back of the car to make sure none of the Zs got in and slowly closed it so no could get in but not fully so it didn't make a noise.

He waved me on which made my heart instantly start racing. I peeked around the corner seeing them all shuffling around mindlessly, not really paying attention to anything around them. Looking in one of the Zs eyes showing a milky yellow and green color and red for the pupel caused my skin to crawl. I pulled away trying to get myself to calm down as I saw him leaning towards me again, this time his face filled with worry. I turned around to see a woman about 26 about to bite my arm but my body naturally reacting on it's own stabbed the sword right through her forehead cause the womans body to go limb next to me. I sucked in a harsh breath a little to loudly as one of the zombies on the road started looking around for where the noise had came from. Dimitri slowly got out the car and crouched in front if it so no one could see him as he mouthed "dont move."

I held my breath not moving a muscle as the zombie came to the other side of the car looking side to side, waiting for some helpless soul to feast upon and dragged his bloody guts all over the side of it of the vehicle as he walked by. He slowly turned and walked back to the road as I let go my breath quietly trying to calm it. I looked over to Dimitri as he waved me to go as I ran light and fast to the tree and leaned against it closing my eyes quickly and opening them back up to see Dimitri waving again. I ran behind the back of a hill. Catching my breath for a moment as I heard a little movement in front of me, when i looked I saw Dimitri struggling with a big zombie that had him pinned on a wall snapping his jaw at him, trying to get a piece of meat. I took a deep breath running up on the side of the zombie and plunged my sword in the side of his head. The Zs body went rigid and fell to the ground with a small thud.

Dimitri looked at me in surprise and slowly dragged me in the car and shut the door slowly. I took a deep breath as we locked the doors and he turned it on and speed away across a hill as the dead just realized a car was leaving. The groaned and tried following us but Dimitri drove the car so fast they began to disappear from behind us after ten minutes. The car ride was very quiet for quiet sometime. I was to busy looking at all the things going past in a fast pace motion.

Everything was no longer beautiful and green and full of lofe, it was empty...run down and most of all abandoned by the people who used to live in the homes. I sighed leaning my head against the window, not wanting to see anymore destruction of what this so called world I was now living in. I finally broke the silent, speaking slowly to him.

"Can you explain to me what happened? What's started all this...and who...was I?" Dimitri grabbed the steering wheel tightly as he continued looking forward, driving quiet fast down what looked like a highway.

"It was a deadly disease that some scientist were working on when they shouldn't have. They were trying to cure a disease that had started spreading around the world killings hundred of people...started with cold like symotms runny nose sore throat, high fever...then after a couple days they would suffocate on their own blood and all their organs would shut down and they would just end up dying...it was called the BLENCA disease. Nothing could stop it once a person had it and it was very contagious if someone coughed and you were around, you were surely to get it unless you had a really good immune system. But not a lot of people had that so it spread very quickly everywhere. It was sweeping into small towns at first, killing hundreds of people and then swept into large cities just taking everyone out.  But of course no one thought it was serious till it hit washington DC and then when the president's daughter and wife got it and died it sent the president in a state of mind...where they made it clear they were gonna find a cure...." he took a deep breathe looking down for a second and then back at the road ad he continued.

"You were at your job when the supposed cure was first injected into a live host. They were cured of the disease but then the man started going crazy, vivid dreams, fever, hallucinations and then he just died a couple days later....sad part he didnt stay dead. He came back, and made chaos among the world. People started getting bit and started getting these strange symptoms, seeing images of yourself being dead and taring your teeth into someone you loved...to the fever and hallucinations to death...and then back up in a matter of minutes. ..." he finally looked up and made eye contact with me as I saw the true sadness written all over his face. I sighed deeply looking down at my hands on which were slightly trembling.

Dimitr, looking back at the road spoke with some tears sliding down his face. "You found me at my parents house, where my parents...." he stopped and his bottom lip curled in anger but he continued on..

" They were infected and tried killing me...I was too weak to even to put them out of there misery....but you...came out of no where and took them both out like this is what you were born to do...." He turned back and looked back at me this time really looking at my features and my eyes again.

"Short story summed up, the world ended, no government, no army came and stopped it, it spread all around the world and places began to explode leaving a chemical in the air which killed thousands of people, leaving the red sky during the day....and we have been together ever since day one....watching each other back..."
His words began trailing off making me already know the ending of this story. He lost the one person probably he loved most in this word and is replaced with someone who looks like her but has no memory of this world.

"Oh my godness....i... " My words stopped in mid track ad he turned a corner and began driving into the depths of trees. He went around a couple trees and a couple hundred meters inside the woods was a huge metal wall that had to stand almost high like a building I saw in New York city. My eyes trailed to the major guns on top and the several people taking guard. But dimitrios voice broke the trance and I looked up at his crystal green eyes.

"Well Octavia...welcome to Harvard...our home."
