Emily's smiling face was what greeted them when the door swung open. It widened when she saw their hands all linked together and Y/N anxious face back at her. "I see things have gone well." She teases lightly and moved aside to the side to let them all in. The boys let go of Y/N's hand to let her through first, then follow in after her, closing the door behind them.

Despite not knowing any of the others scattered around the house, Emily's reassuring, motherly smile calmed her down enough to not reach back out to one of the boys.

There were three other people in the house excluding Jake, who was glaring angrily over at the three of them from his spot on the armchair, arms crossed over his chest like an angry child. On the worn couch was a guy that looked about Y/N's age with his arm wrapped around a girl of similar age, both had big grins on their faces while they talked to each other in hushed tones. Over Emily's shoulder was an older man watching her intently, standing there in all his hulking glory.

'That must be Sam,' Y/N thought, unable to look him in the eyes for long. He continues to watch her even after she looks away, and Y/N anxiously looks around the room to keep from meeting his eye again.

"Uh, why are the guys all shirtless?" Y/N asks no one in particular, her eye's glancing over their exposed chests against her will.

"We run hotter than normal people," Embry supplies, as if it was a normal, everyday thing. Y/N nods absently, trying to keep her gaze on their face to avoid looking like a creeper.

"Holly shit, you weren't lying!" The one from the couch exclaims, jumping up from his spot and dragging the still smiling girl with him.
"Can't you hear their thoughts?" She asks, taking long steps in order to stay pressed up to his side as they walk up to them.

"Well yeah... but still!" Jared looks like the living embodiment of an excited puppy at that moment, though the teasing grin he's giving her is not as innocent, "Soooo, Y/N, heard a lot about you, it's nice to actually meet you."

"It's nice to meet you too. Though I haven't heard a single thing about you." Y/N teased, a wide smile stretching across her face at the playful pout on his face. The girl practically hanging off of him laughed lightly, eyes bright as they turned their attention to Y/N.

"I'm Kim, it's nice to meet you!" She didn't move from her spot next to Jared, but gave her an enthusiastic wave before wrapping her arms back around him.

"Nice to meet you too," Y/N said, eyes darting to Jake when she heard him scoff.

"Are we starting this meeting or not, we have better things to do," Jake muttered under his breath, but it was loud enough for Y/N to hear. From behind her, she could practically feel Paul's anger, a low growl slipping past his lips as he glared over at Jake.

"That's enough," Sam says, stepping around Emily to be slightly between Jake and Paul, "he does have a point though."

He turns towards Y/N then, his serious expression softening when he catches Emily's eye for just a moment before getting back to business.

"I assume you know enough about us from what Paul and Embry told you to know what we are?" When Y/N nods he continues, "Then you know how important it is to keep this a secret, to keep us a secret. Nobody is to know about who we really are, even Bella Swan."

"Why would I tell Bella?" Y/N asks softly, still intimidated by the large man.

"Because she was with the cold ones, she knows about the supernatural. Just not us. And I would like it to stay that way." Sam shoots a pointed look at Jake then, and gets a poorly hidden eye roll at that. 'He must have wanted to tell Bella right away, poor guy,' Y/N thought absently, still feeling sorry for her friend after their mini argument.

"Okay, I can do that."

"Good. Next is the issue of the cold ones still returning to Forks. Once the Cullens left we thought our problems with vampires would be done. However, one redhead, the one you met in the woods, keeps coming through, as if she's looking for something. Not to mention an unknown vampire that we only catch the scent of when they're long gone."

The mention of the redhead puts Y/N on edge, but when she hears that there's more than one vampire roaming the city, it makes her blood run cold. "What- What do you mean another one?"

"There's one that we've caught the scent of close to Forks, closer than the redhead has dared to go. We don't know who they are, and haven't picked up a strong enough scent to track them in any sort of direction."

"And you don't know who it is?"

"No, we even asked the elders, the only vampires to ever come here were the Cullens, this is someone new." Feeling the heat radiate from one of the boys behind her, she took a step back, wanting the comfort from them. They move to take her hand, and she recognizes the unfamiliar touch as Paul's and gives his hand a tight squeeze, "I know this is a lot to ask when you've only just been introduced to all this, but you need to tell Paul or Embry where you're going if it's out of the norm so they can keep an eye on you."

Y/N bristles at that, giving him a probably pathetic glare, her fear overshadowing any other emotion, "Why do they need to know where I go?"

Sam shares a look with Paul behind Y/N, then to her other side where Embry was standing, then turns his attention back to her, "Because every time the scent was picked up, it was with yours."
