Cory ran out of his parents' house and headed to Mr. Feeny's as he was met by Jack, Eric, Shawn, and Rachel. "Where's Angela?" Cory asked looking between all of them. Eric sighed as he stepped up to Cory with sadness in his eyes. "She's gone, little brother." He told Cory. "What? How? When?" Cory asked in disbelief. "She left a while ago, Cory," Rachel told him. Cory glanced at Shawn as he watched the sad look in Shawn's eyes as he lunged at him. "You bastard! Why didn't you stay gone? She was doing fine. It took me forever to get her to smile again!" Cory said in anger.

"Cory, calm down," Eric said as he pulled his brother off Shawn. "Shawn, stop," Jack told his brother as Rachel jumped in the middle, holding her hands up. "Shawn! Cory, please calm down! This isn't going to help anything. Nor will it change the fact that she's leaving this week to be with her father."She informed them. Cory stood up straight and shrugged his brother's hands off him. "Rachel, what did you say?" Cory asked as his throat began to burn. "She told us that she's leaving for Italy. And  we'll see her Spring Semester." Eric said. "No. No. She promised me." Cory began to ramble. "Promise you what?" Shawn demanded.

Cory turned his head quickly as he cut his estranged best friend a look. They watched Cory's bloodshot red eyes give Shawn an icy cold look. "None of your fucking business. We were doing fine before you and Topanga show your asses up."  Cory said before laughing bitterly. "Really bad fucking timing, Shawn. Both of you. Let me guess why you showed up."  Cory said while stepping up into Shawn's space. "It's the anniversary of the day WE BOTH found the purse with her things in it."

"Yeah," Shawn said. "You remembered?" Cory narrowed his eyes and breathed deeply. "I never forgot." He admitted to Shawn. "It was the day I fell hard for her too." Shawn's eyes widened. He was about to lunge back at Cory. "You son of a bitch!" He yelled as Cory stepped back and crossed his arms. They just looked at each other. "Jack, get your brother out of my damn face before I let him see how truly angry at him and Topanga I am," Cory said to Jack but kept his gaze on Shawn.

Jack and Rachel both took Shawn to her car as he yelled back at Cory. "That's why even though she wasn't taking me back, she wasn't going to be with you either!" He laughed harshly while being led to the car. Cory kept his back to Shawn and closed his eyes. "Is it true? She really said that ?" He asked feeling his heart rip some. He opened his eyes to see his brother nod his head.

Cory let his head droop before heading to his car. He let Eric drive as they went to the park, hoping she would be there. But when he noticed she wasn't and the sky was now dark, he decided to drive this time.

He dropped Eric at his car before he went to his dorm and walked up to his floor. He entered through the living area and stood before her door to knock. "Angela? Angela? It's Cory." He called out before waiting for an answer. "Angel, baby, please talk to me. Please?" When he didn't get a response once again, he twisted the knob to open it.  There he saw her room was untouched except for the dresser and the closet. Fear filled Cory while he searched the closet. He saw it and most of the drawers were empty. Sadly, he sat on her bed before noticing a note.

Dear Cory,

I got an emergency test date online. So, I can take my last test through my laptop. I'm sure by now you know that I decided to break my promise to you. I am so sorry but I had chosen our happiness- my happiness so you can have your best friend and the love of your life back. I hope we can still be friends when I come back. I know you'll be busy with Shawn and Topanga. I can talk my dad into switching me to another room once I get back. Thank you for making me happy than I have ever been in my life.

Lo (Scratched out)

Your frien (Scratched out)

Your  Angel

Cory stared at the paper before his tears fell against it, staining the words he'd just read. He suddenly felt numb and continued to sit in her room. His brain and heart struggled to find the justification behind losing everything that mattered to him in one day.

He continued to silently cry before climbed in and curled up in her bed. The last thing Cory did was grab her pillow, letting her scent lull him into painfully sad slumber.
