Later that night, when everybody had retired to their private bedrooms, Khushi found herself sited on the terrace star gazing. It was peaceful and thus she could converse with her dear parents, narrating the events of the day from the tiniest event to the biggest news of Arnav accepting her as his family. The fact that Mami had agreed to join them for picnic was news worthy too. Khushi had a little smile thinking of what had actually happened a few hours ago.

'Can we watch some news now? You have seen enough of your telenovela's, sopies and serials for today.' Arnav said.

'And then a movie later?' Khushi asked excitedly.

'No, no movie tonight. Didn't you plan for a picnic tomorrow?' she nodded, 'then we should turn-in early as we need ample time to relax otherwise your picnic will be a flop.'

'That's a good idea Arnav bitwa,' Nani was glad he had given his consent to the picnic idea. Both Anjali and she had been skeptic about him agreeing to this mundane idea but Khushi had been adamant that he will agree.

'What picnic?' Mami who was in her own world asked.

'Family outing Mami,' Arnav told her. 'If you have plans it's okay you're not compelled to join us.'

'No plans at all, I will definitely join you can I bring my friends as well?'

'Why not, the more the merrier,' Khushi chirped in.

'I'll go and call them right away; I've to give this good news.'

'That was unexpected, Mami agreeing to one of my ideas I'm so happy, yey!' Khushi clapped hands for herself and literally jumped in happiness little did she know the bait was Arnav. At long last she got a chance to showcase her rich nephew in front of her friends and their daughters.

Emotions were varying on her face as she thought again of how Mami had spoken to her until Arnav came to her rescue.

'Mommy, papa, today I was reminded again of who I am. It hurts. I know It shouldn't but what can I say, the heart wants what it wants. After Virat and his wife Manvi, the Raizada's have become my family too and I care for them very much. Why is Mami like that? Why does she hate me? She agreed to come with us for the picnic and I'm very happy but I can't shake this feeling that she is up to something. Will she hurt me with her words again? Today Arnav saved me but will he be there for me always?

I'm petrified mommy, my heart is paining papa. The heart beats are becoming louder and louder like a drum beat. I've tried to suppress them but till when? I'm tired of running. I want peace, love and happiness. Please grant me. Am I not your darling daughter?

'Who are you talking to Parrot?'

Khushi jumped in fright. 'Arnav-ji, you scared me.'

'Really, you get scared too?'

'A lot of things scare me.'

'Like...?

'Darkness, fast cars even happiness because I know it doesn't last for long.'

Arnav didn't know how to respond to that. What she had said was deep and was coming from within. A few minutes of silence elapsed and then Khushi laughed drawing Arnav's attention.

'Arnav-ji, I know you are a man of few words but couldn't you say two words like, what the...?

'What the...!'
