The preparations for the birthday bash were in full swing. Every one of the Raizada members was involved to make it a blast. Payal and Akash had arrived a day before as summoned by Arnav for he had plans of his own.

What had surprised Akash and Payal was the warm welcome they got from Akashi's mother. Instead of Nani coming with a prayer plate, it was Manorama who'd welcomed them and she had a wide smile on her face, a very genuine one and when she hugged her son this time she didn't forget to hug Payal as well and fed her some sweets too.

The happiest people to see this were Khushi and Anjali. After the confrontation with Arnav, Mami had chosen to go to Khushi and apologise in person and fortunately for her, Khushi had readily forgiven her and told her she had suspected something like this when she saw her with Arnav earlier on. They had talked a lot and bonded well where Mami got to show Khushi Arnav's childhood pictures of which some were embarrassing. She went on to tell stories of a naught and mischievous Arnav and Akash. How she had mistreated Payal and how now she regrets it.

'Mami for as long as Payal is still your daughter-in-law you still have the chance to apologise and properly welcome her into the family. I'm sure she will love it. I've spoken to her on several accounts and I know she is a good girl.' Khushi had told her.

'I know she is. She is the best wife for my son and the best daughter in law.'

'That's my lovely Mami, I will help you prepare to welcome your lovely daughter then,' Khushi chirped away leaving a smile on Mami which soon disappeared thinking of the atrocious things she'd done to this free bird.

All Khushi had ever wanted was happiness for everyone and good health for Nani. A tear rolled down her cheeks and mumbled again, forgive me Khushi.'

'I thought she already did?'

Mami looked up to see Arnav with a handkerchief. 'Here, wipe your tears away Mami. That was very big of you. You told her everything. I know you're regretting but to own up to your mistakes like this? I'm proud of you Mami.'

'You should be proud of Khushi and don't ever let her go. If you want I can talk to her.'

'Hold it Mami, Khushi is my girl and I will talk to her on the right time so don't you dare start thinking of your make up right now.'

'What new make-up are you talking about?' Anjali's voice boomed joining her brother and Mami.

'Look who's here, what happened o you that you had to leave your dear husband so early in the morning. Did he kick you out of the room?'

'What? Chote, I don't understand you sometimes. When Aman is with me you complain, when I come you complain. Should I go and call Aman instead, looks like he is the one you're craving for not your own sister.'

'What the... Di, are you crazy?'

'What should I say then, Aman has been here every day for hours. I can bet he was the first person to wake you up and not once did you complain.'

'Whatever, how is my princess, is she happy?'

'She is the most disciplined girl I know. How are you feeling this morning Chote?'

'I'm good. Next week I will be back at work so don't stress.'

'Of course I will stress. Now tell me what you two were talking about.'

'Nothing important I was on my way to take a walk you two continue your talks.'

Anjali watched him disappear before she could turn to Mami. 'Are you ok Mami what happened? Did he find out? Your face is so sullen and it doesn't suit you. Is that why Chote was talking about make up kit?'
