Khushi was of two minds after showing her aunt her room and bidding her a good night. She desperately wanted to talk to Arnav as much as she wanted to be with her mother. Still immersed in her thoughts, her mother patted her shoulder knowing exactly what she must be thinking.
'Are you Ok...'she smiled ruefully. What name was she to call her daughter? '...first tell me what I shall call you, Khushi or Varu? I don't want you to be uncomfortable.'
'Since I was a child I've been called Khushi and I associate myself with that name. It's my identity now and I would like to keep that name.' Khushi felt bad saying this, they had named her differently and maybe there were some sentiments attached to that name Varushka.
'Don't feel bad Khushi, everyone will understand besides your both names speaks only of happiness therefore no sentiments are lost here. When you were a baby everyone had a pet name for you and from what I see, I can tell they will continue calling you that and soon some will call you Mrs. Raizada right?' Vanshika teased her.
'"Mom,' Khushi laughed with her mother.
'Listen I know my son-in-law is desperate to see you alone after all that has happened so why don't you go to him.'
'You will let me go, you don't mind?'
''Of course I mind, I want to talk to you the whole night, know you more and hug you and kiss you but I can understand what the two of you must be feeling right now. Go and assure him then you can come back. I don't have to worry anymore, you're here with me and you won't go anyway.'
'Thank you mom, I didn't know what to do. On one hand there is you and I also knew he would be worried about me.'
'I understand. I want us to be friends so don't hesitate to tell me about your feelings and anything you wish.'
'I too want us to be the very best of friends, the best mother-daughter duo ever.' She gave her mother a big sloppy kiss on the cheek and left running to where her heart beat was calling.
Arnav smiled seeing her. 'You came, I didn't think you would come.'
'Why?'
'I have heard somewhere that you can't compare a mother's love so I thought you would spend your night together.'
'You heard right Laad governor, nothing compares to it. It was that love that sent me to you.'
Arnav grinned like a Cheshire cat. 'Is it, my mother-in-law is damn cool.'
'What the...'
'I just love her, I wish to go and hug her right now.'
'Don't be too happy, I'm going back to her.'
'I know,' Arnav became serious. 'I just wanted to see you and I was about to text you to come for a second. I understand you two need each other.'
'It's so surreal, so unbelievable don't you think. One day I was an orphan and the next second I have this huge family. I'm a Vadhera, Khushi Vadhera.'
'It's a miracle indeed. So are you not going to take Varushka as your given name?'
'No, I'm Khushi. I'm not going to even use the Vadhera name though I can acknowledge I'm one.'
'You will be a Raizada and that's it, Khushi Arnav Singh Raizada.'
'As you wish.'
'Go and sleep, we'll talk later. It's late already and everyone will be wanting a piece of you tomorrow morning.'
'I love you.'
'I love you more.' Arnav kissed her and took her to her room which she was sharing with her mother. 'Sweet dreams.'
