More than friends

Chapter 11

Okay, so obviously i havent updated in a while, ive been real busy with school. Who knew grade 12 would take up so much of my time. I hope everyone is liking the book so far, please comment and vote for it, it really brightens my day. 

This cahpter is a little bit shorter, but i got mroe coming.

That night after the movies, Zack dropped me off at home.  I walked into the kitchen and searched through the fridge for anything to eat; I hit the jackpot when I saw a leftover Chinese food container. No one was home, and having no idea where anyone was I just dug into the Chinese food.

I looked through my phone, not checking it all day, and saw that I had a message.

Hey, I looked at the name, and saw that it was from Matt. What was he doing texting me?

Hi, I replied.

It was so nice seeing you today, we should chill sometime soon, I miss you.

I thought I was going to cry, now that I have a boyfriend you were going to pay me some attention. Instead of crying I laughed. I was definitely over him. I wanted to reply, but thought that maybe I shouldn’t.

What do I have to lose?

You cut me off because I didn’t want to have sex with you, now that I have a boyfriend; you want me in your life again?

His reply was shocking. I know a made a huge mistake and I regret it so much.

I couldn’t handle this conversation anymore. Yup, well bye Matt. I had no empathy for him.

He replied back, but I didn’t look at it, I didn’t care about it, I wasn’t wasting any more time on him. But a piece inside was hurting and I know it’s because I’ll always still have some feelings towards him.

 The week went by quickly and tomorrow was the day I was going to Zacks cottage. I was sitting in my backyard lying in the sun, and all of a sudden I started to hear noise coming from two people. I saw Vanessa and Lewis walk out.

“Oh sorry, I didn’t know you were here,” Lewis said. “ Its okay,” I replied.

“I’ll be back, I’m going to get us some drinks, and do you want anything Alex?” “Water please,” I asked.

Lewis went back inside, and left me and Vanessa there. I pulled my sunglasses off my face and looked at her, “hey so how are you and Lewis doing?” I didn’t have many friends, but I could at least try to get on good terms with her.

“Good, can I tell you something?” she looked concerned.  “Yes anything.”

“So I don’t have many friends, well actually I don’t have any, but I really like your brother.”

I looked at her and was so happy to hear that because I knew Lewis liked her back. “That’s amazing, I’m so happy for you, I know he likes you back, which is surprising because he never settles down for anyone, so what’s the problem?”

She took a gulp before replying, “I think I’m pregnant.” I just sat there not knowing what to say.

“And you’re sure it’s his?” she looked really sad, “I haven’t had my period, and I took the test, but it didn’t say how far I was, and I’m scared to tell him.”

I tried to reassure her, “listen if you are pregnant my brother may be a jack ass and a player, but he would never let you deal with this alone, I’d makes sure of it, you have me too.”

Right on time, Lewis walked in. we both looked at him. “What’s up?”

“Vanessa needs to tell you something,” I said, she shot me a look. Lewis looked at Vanessa, “what’s going on sweat pea.”

“I’m pregnant.”

Lewis looked at her than at me.  I don’t know what I expected him to say, but I was surprised with his response, and the calmness in his voice. “Oh okay, so do you have a doctor’s appointment or something you need me to come to.”

“I’m not killing it.” Vanessa said. “I never said that, I meant when your next appointment, ultra sound is or whatever.”

“You’re seriously going to stick by me through this?” she asked, Lewis put the cups down, and walked up to Vanessa, he gathered her in a hug, “I’m going to be by your side through it all baby.”

They broke apart and Lewis looked at me, “do not tell mom or dad okay?”
