I walked back into the kitchen grabbing Josh by the hand, I pulled him into the living room, I was furious and didn’t know what I was about to do but I didn’t care. As the music blasted I started rocking my hips back and forth, I grabbed Josh’s hands placing them on my hips. I guided his hands up and down the sides of my body as we swayed to the music. Josh took control, turning me around to face him, he grabbed my face and was about to kiss me until all of a sudden he was thrown from my grip. “What the fuck?” Zach looked at me like I just committed murder.

“What!” I yelled, “We were dancing.”

“dancing?” he looked  from Josh to me, “ that shit wasn’t dancing, you might as well have gone into a room and had sex while you were at it.”

“What a good fucking idea,” I said, “and in the meantime you can go back to flirting with that hoe on your lap.”

Zach looked at the girl who was sitting on his lap, “That’s what this is about; you were going to hook up with my friend, because some chick was on my lap?”

I replied, “I wasn’t going to kiss him, we were just dancing.”

Suddenly Josh appeared again, “you  weren’t gonna hook up with me, man fuck this y’all got some shit to solve and imma go find me some ass.” Josh walked out of the room.

I walked out of the front door, walking towards Zach’s car, he chased after me and grabbed my wrist, “Alex wait,” I shoved my hand free. Zach ran in front of me and pushed me up against the house. He looked down at me before kissing me, starting off gently and deepening the kiss. “Listen that girl was my ex, she just sat on my lap and I was trying to tell her to leave me alone until you went and got the wrong idea.” He grabbed my hand, “I know we aren’t dating, but I would never hurt you, I meant it when I said I like you, and always have.”

I looked up at Zach, “I like you too,” and went up to kiss him on the cheek. Trying to break the awkwardness, I said,” well that was fun, we should do it again sometime,” making Zach laugh.

With my hand in his we walked towards his car, and starting to drive back to Toronto. “So what you planning on taking next year in University?” Zach asked.

I looked over at him, “Well I’m thinking of becoming a chemist, what are you studying again?”

“Damn girl, a chemist? Wow wait a go and make me feel stupid,” He looked at me, “I’m planning on becoming a firefighter.”

“That’s hot, “I looked at Zach and laughed.  The whole way home we talked for as long as I could remember, until my eyes started to droop closed.

The smell of pancakes filled my nose, and I rolled over in bed bumping into something solid. I was half awake, and half a sleep, and too lazy to care what was lying beside me so I continued to lay there with my eyes closed. The smell of pancakes was getting stronger and the last thing I could remember was sitting in Zach’s car. I opened my eyes to find him lying beside me in my bed. How did I get here? What was Zach doing in my bed?

“Good morning,” Zach said. He could obviously tell I was wondering what the heck was going on, “don’t worry I didn’t rape you,” he laughed.

“What happened last night?” I asked.

“Well you fell asleep in my car and I drove you home, and your mom was wondering what we were doing here because she said she gave you permission to sleep at my house.” He gave me a weird look, “anyways your mom told me I could sleep over because it was 3 in the morning, so I made a bed on the floor, and woke up and made you pancakes, because I know there your favorite.” I rolled over on my bed to look down and see a couple of pillows, and a bunch of blankets.

“How did you remember pancakes were my favorite?”I asked, looking up at Zach.

“Maybe because every morning before school, and every time when I came over on the weekend you were always eating them, and I remember one time you said if you could live off of any food it would be pancakes.”

I was speechless; everything he said and did was perfect. I started to smile and leaned in kissing Zach on the lips. He started to tickle me, making me jump. He rolled me back over and sat on top of me, tickling my ribs, and stomach. “Zach! Stop!” I screamed.

Zach got off me and leaned over to my bed stand grabbing the tray of pancakes, covered with berries, maple syrup and whip cream. He started cutting my pancakes into pieces and fed it to me piece by piece, half way through I grabbed the fork, “I’m not a baby, and I can feed myself, besides you feed me to slow.” I started to eat the pancakes at a faster speed, finishing them in seconds. When I was done I burped as loud as possible.

Zach looked at me, “man you haven’t change, you know it wouldn’t hurt to be a bit more ladylike,” he laughed.

Just then, my door burst open, and standing there was Lewis, he chimed in a sing, song voice, “guess who got laid last night?” I rolled my eyes.

“Oh hey Zach, I see I’m not the only one who got laid last night, just remember if you hurt my sister I will have to kill you.”

I starred at Lewis, “First off, no one cares that you got laid by your girlfriend that’s not your girlfriend, second me and Zach are just friends and didn’t do anything.” I replied.

Lewis said in a mocking voice, “first off that girl dumped me when she walked in on me with her bestie, second you and Zach may not have done anything yet…but you will, it’s been obvious since you were little that you are going to be more then friends.” I picked up a pillow and threw it at Lewis’ face.

He caught the pillow in his hands and jumped on top of me, he looked from me to Zach, “so what are we doing today on this fine summer morning?”
