(About 2 days later)

(Niki, lounging in her room, decides to go see Shadow. She's very curious about him)

(And so A few minutes later she reaches Shadow's place and enters. She walks around still nervously, but is more calm)

(Shadow once again teleports behind her, she turns around but not slowly and Shadow has the same expression as before)

Shadow: I told you not to come back.

Niki: Couldn't help it. You just seem so intriguing to me.

Shadow: (with a blank voice) Intriguing?

Niki: (leans on the wall sideways) Well, I just want to know more about you. Heck... You seem you could use some company.

Shadow: I don't need any company... Much less from a child.

Niki: I can already tell just from your body language that you seem quite...(Looks around then back at him) Depressed.

(Shadow then teleports behind her again, but this time with a little more action)

Shadow: I don't think it's any of your business to know what my life is... And even if you knew... (Looks away) I highly doubt you would look at me as someone that can be "friend material".

Niki: Of course I think your friend material. No matter what your life might be like right now... It could and can change.

(As Shadow looks away, he smiles to himself and sheds a tear that Niki thinks he's actually good inside)

Shadow: (turns to face Niki) Alright fine... You win..(smiles at the ground) Just don't get into any trouble.

Niki: I won't... Trust me.

(About 2 weeks later)

(Niki is digging under her bed for the backpack she once had. She finally finds it and then opens it up to something out of it. She pulls out a.... Chaos Emerald? Apparently she has all the chaos emeralds in her backpack to keep in hiding)

(3 Years later)

(Niki is now 10)

(Niki is in the woods traveling on her own and seems to find another temple/ruin that this time is underground. The doors open more easily than Shadow's place. Once they doors are open, she trickles down the stairs and there is an immediate split once you get down the stairs. Off to the right is pitch black, not knowing if it goes any further. Off the left is a small emitting purple and white light that could possibly lead somewhere)

(Niki decides to go towards the light and finds herself in a somewhat cross section as she approaches what is causing the light. In front of her is a pedestal that has a large floating orb. And off to either of her sides is a dark hall and behind her was the way she came)

(The orb then posses snake like eyes, scaring Niki. Niki falls on her behind and the orb just stares at her, but then speaks in a gasp and slight echo-ey voice..... Y'all can guess who that sound like from my previous story)

Orb: Don't be afraid child...

Niki: W-who are you?.... Much less.... What are you?

Orb: You may call me... Mephiles... I am yet not what you really see. I'm just a poor trapped person in this.... Odd confinement.. But I'm afraid I must wait till the day I am free.

Niki: Okay...... (Gets up)

Mephiles: Hey, You have super powers don't you?

Niki: I do... Why are you asking?

Mephiles: All I ask is that... Do you trust me? (Opening the snake like eyes wide in a creepy way)

Niki: I guess?

(The scene is now behind Mephiles's containment but then switches back to previous shot after he is done speaking)

Mephiles: Good....

(Niki starts feeling pain and then erratic shocks start coming from her and each second she gets in even more pain to eventually fall on her knees and then a purple-y-white forcefield comes around her as she then screams. The scene then reverts to her eyes as her eyes open. Once she is then done screaming her eyes are blank white. And then everything stops and she then falls onto her side breathing heavily. She struggles to get up)

Mephiles: You are the one.... Now... All I ask of you, is that you cannot contain a type of crystal... It would be rather rude if you did.

Niki: (making it onto her knees crying) You're just a monster.... Why did you even do that?!

Mephiles: Child.... I did not mean to harm you but I needed to find something out... And by the way... I never got your name..

(With Niki desperately shaking she looks at the ground to think of an answer)

Niki: It's...... Nugh (gets up using the wall)... Niki..

Mephiles: Niki.... Well then I say it's a pleasure to meet you. (Intensively staring at her)

(Niki just walks away after the fiasco limping)

(Two days later)

(Niki is still kinda sore, she explores more of the island near a abandoned mine shaft area. Niki looks around and she spots a pretty light purple crystal and decides to take it with her)

(Over the course of a few hours, She made the crystal into a necklace. And with her creating the necklace she then decides to go to Mephiles)

(A few minutes later)

(She reaches Mephiles being very cautious around him. But all Mephiles does is cower)

Mephiles: Where did you get that from?

Niki: What? This? (Holding the crystal up)

Mephiles: The Palmite crystal. You shouldn't mess with things that you don't know of.

Niki: So by that logic, I shouldn't even be here?

Mephiles: You don't understand what that thing will do to me if gotten to close.

Niki: I honestly wonder.

(Niki walks a little closer up to Mephiles and a dark mist comes from around Mephiles and into the crystal. Mephiles's eyes then change from snake like to more normal)

Niki: Huh... I'm guessing that these are your powers?

Mephiles: (begging) I beg of you, break the crystal!

Niki: (looks at the crystal with a smirk) You know what, I think I'm gonna keep it. I honestly wonder how it feels being tortured back, don't ya think?

(Niki starts walking off still with a smirk)

Mephiles: Don't you dare walk off! Come back! Please!

(Niki then disappears into the darkness and the scene reverts on to Mephiles's Orb and then scene fades)
