Little Steps

(The next day)

(Niki is walking up to the workshop while Sonic is waiting at the door)

Niki: So, you gonna laugh at me more or what? (Stops in front of Sonic and crosses her arms)

Sonic: (hand on hip) No, I just wanna see whatcha got.

Niki: Ok then, what's first?

(Tails comes out of the workshop with a remote control)

Tails: I've decided to create a little obstacle course for you. (The course is shown through Tails's presentation)
It's divided into 5 different aspects through each member of the team and we'll see which one you're best at.

Niki: Kay. Sounds simple enough.

Tails: And... You can pick and choose which one you want first and last.

Niki: Awesome. Okay...(thinks for a moment) I'll choose... This one! (Pointing at the second pathway closest to the workshop)

(She walks up to the pathway)

Niki: Question.. So is this like a race or....?

Tails: No. Only one of them is a race. (Glints at Sonic with a smile and Sonic smiles back)

Niki: Oookay. (Thinking how to plan a non timed obstacle course)

Tails: I know, why create something that really isn't timed? But the ones that aren't timed, they're just short. And I will say that the one you chose is my course.

Niki: Alright... So I just go ahead and go?

(Tails nods)

Niki: (awkwardly) Alright then... (Heads on through)

(Niki walks for about a minute and she then spots what looks like a makeshift bomb. She also spots a button slightly buried in the sand that would pretentiously set off the bomb, therefore her having to defuse it)

(She then steps on the button and jogs towards to bomb that has 5 minutes to stop. She is able to defuse it at 4:52)

(A light on the device that Tails is holding, lights up green)

Tails: (To Sonic) Huh... She was able to defuse it.

Sonic: Okay, So we got smarts in check. Now let's see how well she'll do with the others.

(Niki comes out from the previous pathway and then moves on in a row from there on. And so she moves on to the next pathway, which is Amy's course)

Niki: Ohh... Acrobatics. This will be a peace of cake.

(The course is a parkour type. Niki goes through it like was nothing and another light on the device light up also green)

Tails: To be honest, I'm not that surprised about her completing that course.

(Sonic looks at Tails and nods)

(Niki then moves onto the next pathway which is Sticks's)

Niki: Acrobatics and slight battling? Heh... I have a feeling that Tails made this too easy.
