Chapter Four

Nagising ako because of Oura's loud squeal.

"What the fuck is your problem, Oura?" I said as I covered my face with a pillow. My head hurts so bad.

"Oh, Lord. Please, kunin niyo na po ako." I heard her pray nonstop, and cuss nonstop din. Is she for real?

"You airhead! Dumb bitch! Dullard!"

"Oura fucking Hepburn, how dare you call me names early in the morning?!" I got up exasperately. I swear, she just ruined my sleep and my morning. Tapos I'm hungover pa.

"I did not! I was cursing myself. Where were you last night?! What happened was so embarassing, I can't! Please, ground, eat me, please! Huhuhu. I just lost hope that one day, Asher's gonna like me rin." and then it hit me. She was going crazy kasi she remembered how she threw up on her crush last night.

"Best friend of my life, please do me a favor. Bury me alive!" instead of riding her madness, I reached for my airpods and my phone but a text message caught my attention.

Unknown Number: you must be hungover. i suggest hard coffee for your breakfast :)

What? It's not like I drank with somebody else naman 'di ba? I mean, hindi naman ako nakakalimot about what happens tuwing nalalasing ako.

I was about to delete the text when another one came out.

Unknown: good morning btw :)

Maddie West: whos this

Minutes after, the unregistered number responded. Oura was still mourning about the love of her life.

Unknown: im Damon. remember the guy who returned your phone?  im sorry for saving your number without proper consent

How did he get my number? I suddenly remembered when he asked me if he could dial his brother's number on my phone kasi it was lost daw. Kaya pala the ringtone was loud kasi sobrang lapit lang sa akin. I mean, it could inside his pockets, I don't know?!

Maddie West: oh okay. thank you again

That was all I could reply. He didn't respond after that.  Thank God, kumalma na si Oura. We showered nang sabay and wore bikinIs. Duncan won't disapprove kasi usapan talaga na today kami mag-explore sa beach.

I'm wearing a pair of bikini and jeggings. It's just my style, and also just to be safe kasi Duncan will be around. Ang war freak pa naman nila. I think they're stupid kasi nang-aaway sila tuwing may tumitingin sa akin, or if magsuot ako ng revealing clothes. Like, hello?! Are we supposed to cover ourselves sa beach?

We went to the dining hall of another five star hotel connected to where we were staying in. We were invited kasi, may pabuffet daw and all free.

"I swear, man, I wasn't drunk last night. I saw Oura's hair! It was short!"

"Miraculous scalp."

Stupidos. Umagang umaga.

"Aren't you familiar with hair extensions and wigs? Hello? Are you guys for real?"

I noticed Duncan's silence as well as Oura's. Wow, the loudest people of the universe must be sick.

Duncan got me a plateful of foods from the buffet but I just couldn't eat in fear of gagging in this classy place. I did nothing but massage my head kasi it was aching the whole time talaga.

Suddenly, a waiter placed a coffee on the side of my plate. I was about to tell the waiter na I didn't order a coffee but he said na someone ordered it for me tapos umalis na agad. I saw confusion in Duncan's eyes, tapos tinaasan ako ng kilay. I just shrugged, hoping he understood na hindi ko rin alam kung anong nangyayari.

"Don't." Duncan stopped me when I was about to touch the coffee mug. He called a waiter and ordered another coffee na mabilis din namang dumating at ipinalagay niya sa side ng plate ko. Tsk, did he think may lalason sa akin dito?

I felt my phone vibrate. Text messages from the same unregistered number earlier.

: coffee for your hangover, miss

: aw, your boyfriend must be mad

: at least he ordered another coffee for u to drink. hope that helps u with ur hangover :)

I looked around the place, searching for the guy from last night, but I failed. Where is he?

Maddie: thanks for ur concern but pls dont make me cringe, the one who bought another coffee is my brother

He didn't reply, again. Dahil binabantayan ako ni Duncan, and because he was still mad about last night, I drank the coffee he ordered na lang which helped a bit dahil nabawasan ang sakit ng ulo ko and the uneasy feeling of my stomach was now gone.

Because I was born nice, I stayed beside Duncan all throughout the day. Like, I just behaved. I wouldn't want another stunt. Duh? And I must admit, I'm not used to him being this way. It's just making me feel so guilty.

The boys went for a Jet Ski while Oura and I were left sun bathing. Medyo hyper na ulit siya because Asher reassured her na he was really fine and not mad at her, but she still feels hiya. Even I, too, would feel the same if I was on her shoes, ano.
