"How was the party yesterday?" Mom asks as I stride into the kitchen, rubbing my eyes from sleep

"It wasn't bad..." I say, trailing off. My mind wandering back to the events which took place. Especially my talk with Beverly which I didn't enjoy

"That doesn't sound too convincing. Does it have something to do with Beverly?" She asks nonchalantly

I hate it when she does that. Always seem to get the right hunch about things

"What about Beverly?" I ask, shrugging my shoulders. Playing dumb.

"Well the fact that she was your bestfriend in highschool and all of a sudden your brother broke up with her for a reason that is still unknown to me till today. So maybe that didn't make the party all too enjoying" she says, turning over the pancakes that I'm definitely sure she's frying for the girls. I bet she loves them more than she does me.

Thinking back to what she just said, I mutter a silent 'I don't know' and ponder over her words.
The exact 'Was your bestfriend' hitting a little close to home. But I shrug it off. At this point, I wish I never knew her.

Pouring a cup of double shot espresso nomads from the pot of coffee, I take a seat on the counter, as the kids run in hurriedly. They must have smelt the pancakes from up there.

"Goodmorning guys" Gabrielle and Marielle greet, and as for Arielle, she's stuffing her face with pancakes as mom laughs at her

"Goodmorning mummy" she greets me now, sensing my eyes on her

"Don't you think it's a little too late for that?" I ask her, my amusement clear

"Nope! Food first" she points out and I shake my head laughing

"So what are your plans for today?" Mum asks and I shrug, thinking.

Since the party is over, the best thing would've been to leave to Paris right away, I've been gone for a short period of time but I'm very certain the workload I have waiting for me is not in small quantity. But then again, I would like to show the girls around. Take them out. Have some fun and spend time with my Darcy and Spencer.

"I think I'll take the girls out and catch up with Darcy along the line. I'll call her up first. In the mean time, let me go get the girls ready" I reply to mom and I lead the trio upstairs for a bath and a change of clothes.

After I'm done attiring them in a pair of dark blue shorts with red off the shoulder tops, I leave them to choose their sneakers as I grab my phone from my bedroom and call Darcy

"Hey bitch!" Is her first greeting to me once she picks up her phone

"Just when I thought someone could greet me normally. Anyway, I was wondering if we could go out to day and do some catching up. I was thinking of taking the girls out and showing them around and we could hang out along the line"

"Of course. I'd love to. My life is boring anyways" she says and I scoff.

Darcy and boring should never be in the same sentence.

"Okay then. Meet me at the mall in forty-five" I say and she hums to which I hung up after.

I take a shower and shampoo my hair. After I get myself cleaned up, I do my makeup and then walk to my suitcase, looking for an attire. I've been so lazy ever since we came, never been able to put these things away. Never mind, we'll be leaving soon anyway.

Finally finding an outfit, I put it on and straighten my hair.

Adding final touches to makeup, I take my clutch along with my car key and walk out the door

Adding final touches to makeup, I take my clutch along with my car key and walk out the door.

"Time to go girls!" I yell as I walk out the front door. I don't see mom in sight so I conclude she's probably sleeping.

Brandon has turned MIA too.

Gabrielle and Marielle open the backseat door and plop on it

"Where's your sister?" I ask the both if them

"In the kitchen" the answer in unison

"I'm here mom. Was only taking out a granola bar and a bottle of yoghurt" Arielle says and I sigh.

The kid is always munching on something. She always got her mouth busy.

Turning on the car ignition and looking out through the skies, something tells me today is going to be full of surprises. No matter how small.
