Real quick this chapter is depicting the events after the bus scene so don't be confused it plays out until shortly after the end of the last chapter. so enjoy.

The engine revved as they drove down the long twisted orange track, Rhett called the garage to let them know they had left. It was quiet. He focused his mind on the road ahead, trying not to think of anything but the mission.
A calming voice entered the comms.
"Rhett you sounded tense... are you good"
He swallowed. Giving his best smile he answered.
"Uh, y-yeah I'm ok B. Anything yet"
The blue driver let out a breath, the rustles of paper on the other end insinuated that he was digging around in some paperwork. They drove until they reached Atlas square, stopping the cars they hopped out.
Brandon was carrying some papers and instructed Wyatt to grab something from the back of his car.
Wyatt pulled out a large portable computer. Brandon set it up and started it.
"Uh Brandon what's this supposed to do" the tech genius answered without looking up from his work.
"Easy, we need to find this guy in a little under 4 hours, so I thought no better way then to scan the whole city and no better place then the tallest building"
Wyatt raised his hand.
"How the hell do we scan for it"
Brandon turned towards his friend with a smile, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small bag of yellow powder.
"Is that..."
"The poison, yes Rhett it is. It is also how we're going to find this guy"
Wyatt raised his hand again.
"Why"
The boy in blue smiled wider as he poured the powder into a small capsule connected to the computer.
"Easy, he's the one who poisoned Gage he made the stuff. If I run this through the scanner I can find all substances that match it's chemical components, but the one I'm going to look for is the one that matches exactly"
Wow.
Rhett was almost on the verge of happy tears.
"Brandon that's amazing"
He waved him off.
"I  know... there it's set so now all we have to do is wait and see"
So they waited.

And waited.

And waited.

And waited.

Their waiting led to bordome (and they're teenagers so that's gonna be a problem). Brandon was sitting on the hood of his car with a paddle ball while Rhett and Wyatt had seated themselves on the ground playing a game of go fish.

Ding Ding Ding.

Brandon jumped when the timer shrieked, he slid off the smooth metal of the front hood. Rhett and Wyatt looked up from their card game to see him hit the concrete, they both laughed. He grumbled and rose to his feet, walking over to the console he checked the results.
Then he smiled.
"Guys there's a huge amount this stuff somewhere just a little outside of the city"
Wyatt couldn't help but ask.
"What kind of death powder are we looking for"
The blue driver opened his mouth to answer but then closed it as he squinted his eyes.
"I- I don't know I've never seen anything like it, one if the ingredients is a kind of plant that doesn't match anything on earth and here's something else it says it's base liquid is some kind of venom but I'm not sure what kind"
Rhett put is cards down and walked over, kneeling down alongside Brandon he read the screen.
"Bolnix venom. What the heck is a Bolnix"
Brandon shook his head.
"Don't know but I have a feeling this might be connected with that card the shooter gave us"
Rhett shuddered.

Beep Beep Beep

Brandon pulled a flashdrive out of the computer and turn the console off. Standing he turned to his friend in yellow.
"Wyatt give me a hand in packing this up so we can go" said boy jumped to his feet and raced over. Gathering the equipment they ran back to the cars.
Rhett ended up helping Wyatt stuff the computer back into Brandon's car.

_-_-_-_-_-_

She hopped off the bus somberly, waving to the boys she began to walk down the street occasionally smiling at neighbors as she passed. Maybe she should pay him a visit. No. She had things to do and he needed rest, best not to bother him.
"Oh Debra, look over here darling" she looked across the street to her left, standing on the front porch of an old rickety gray house was Ms. Houzie the local old woman. She was a feeble old lady with flat silver hair that ran down her back to the hips. Her smile was motherly and tender.
'Jeez that lady is loud for her age'
She called back.
"Hi Ms. Houzie how are you"
The older woman shuffled off her porch and waddled to her front gate.
"Oh I'm fine sweetheart my old hearts still ticking"
She always like Ms. Houzie she was kind and wise, maybe she should bring Gage over to cheer him up he loved hearing Ms. Houzie's stories.
"Where's your brother and Gage, you three always loved to come over for a minute or two"
She shrugged.
"Max had soccer practice and Gage is still sick"
She could see her nodding from her lawn.
"Well I won't keep you any longer, you best be getting home now" Debbie nodded and went on her way bidding the elder a goodbye.
