Gage looked up in time to brace himself for a tackle. Wyatt threw his arms around his torso, Rhett followed doing the same before pulling a very uncomfortable Brandon in as well.
"Hi guys"
He wiggled out of their hug ball and smiled. Rhett wiped up some tears.
"What happened" Lester held his arm up, proudly showing off the bandages.
"I ran into this guy in the indoor park, we headed to the library then ran into the shooter. I got into a fistfight with him he shot my arm, he threw my gun across the room then tried to stab me, Gage grabbed my gun and shot his hand, apprehended the asshat, I radioed the boys in blue out here. Got my bullet hole bandaged, thanked him for saving my ass and you know the rest"
.
.
.
"Gage..." the speedster turned to him.
"Ye-"
SLAP
"What the fuck were you thinking, you could've died."
Gage placed a hand on his cheek, it stung a little from the impact.
"Wyatt!" Rhett punched him the arm. Brandon pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Wyatt I thought we agreed that violence wasn't the best solution"
"Well that was before we knew he was involved in a gunfight with a maniac"
The glares hardened between them.
"Knock it off you two, he's had enough trauma for today"
Rhett pushed them apart and gave them the look. They walked away.
"Thanks, bud" Rhett smiled at his friend. Hugging him again he let some more tears run.
"I was so worried, I thought I was going to lose you" he was practically sobbing. Gage held an iron grip on his shoulders. They only let go when they heard shouting. Looking up they saw Mrs. Flask and an older man struggling to pull Tracey off of an officer. She was screaming and cussing like a sailor.
"Oh boy" Gage threw off the blanket around himself and hopped out of the ambulance. A nurse called out to him as he walked past, flipping off the officer when he tried to block him he made his way over to the teachers.
"Uncle Ben, hey, hey, Uncle Ben"
The man turned to him.
"Gage" he let go of his sister and pulled his nephew into a hug.
Tracey had noticed and lept up, joining the hug.
"Hi"
When he was let down his aunt, gripped his face with both hands.
"Are you hurt"
"No"
"Did he touch you"
"No! No! Eww no"
She let out a tense breath.
"Good, good. George would kill me if that happened"
Ben laughed.
"George wouldn't hurt a fly"
Tracey shook her head.
"You and I both know why he would kill someone for that reason, anyone who even dares would be 100% dead" Ben crossed his arms.
"Ok yeah you're right but what damage could that have on him it was years ago" Gage piped in.
"Dad got into a fistfight with a drunk lady at Walmart cause she touched him in the crotch. It took four security guards, mom, me, and May to get him off of her" the dryness in his voice was startling.
"Ok fine you have a point"."Speak of the devil" Gage looked over to see his dad running up.
"Tracey, Ben. Oh my gosh are you guys ok" he trapped his siblings into a death hug.
"If you keep choking us then we won't be" he sucked in a huge breathe when he was released. George kneeled down and placed a hand on his son's shoulders.
"An officer told me what you did, looks like Sam's gun training came in handy"
Gage smiled.
"So you weren't worried because uncle sam gave me gun training"
He shook his head.
"I wasn't, but your mother was terrified she went to pick up May when she heard"
Oh jeez.
Lester had walked up and caught their attention. Tracey freaked when she saw his arm.
"Lester what happened"
He pointed to Gage.
"George you tell Mara that you guys one dynamite fucking kid, he saved my life"
'Yeah that's my job'
Both Ben and Tracey looked at one another.
"What"
He nodded
"Yeah just picked up the gun and shot him"
Tracey blinked, Ben scratched his head.
"that sounds like something Mara would do"
George facepalmed.
"Well, where the hell do you think he gets it from, he has almost everything she does, the looks, the eyes, the temper, the sass. Honestly Ben do you really believe that his entire personality spawned from nothing"
"Sometimes, yeah"
