Anyways I won't hold you any longer.
On with the story.
Lots of love.
~Sam.

She paced quickly across the hall as she waited for them. The seconds were agonizing each step she took feeling like knives. She stopped and glanced at the table infront of her. Larry was sitting next to Mara as she silently sobbed into her arms. The slow circles he rubbed on her back seemed to do nothing as she lifted her head for air, her glasses rested crooked upon her nose, her hair was a frizzled and messy mimicry of the neat ponytail it once was. She sighed deeply and glided over. She placed a hand on the older woman's shoulder as she sat down a thin ghost of a smile was the best she could give.
"I just don't understand, how can someone hurt a child. He's only a child" her voice was broken and her tone staggered, this was a woman you could slap repeatedly, spit on, and insult profusely and yet she could hold that calm but threatening demeanor. To hear her broken like this hurt. A lot.
She opened her mouth to speak when the door to the lounge slid open, she turned to find the guys standing there, Rhett was deathly pale and he was on the verge of tears. Brandon didn't look all that different though his hands were balled into fists and his posture was stiff. Wyatt just looked pissed... really pissed. He stomped over (it looked funny since he still had a slight limp) and slammed his hand on the table.
"We going or not Larry, give me some coordinates so I can kick this guys ass" the elder man simply raised his hands and shook his head.
"Wyatt look I know you're upset, we all are, but that is no reason to-" he was cut off.
"Oh to hell with that, Gage is dieing and this guy is crazy, my friends are my family and anyone who messes with my family will be lying on the ground bleeding while bruised black and blue. So can we stop wasting time and catch this guy" Debbie stood and nodded.
"Wyatt's right the longer we wait the less chance we'll find him alive, we find where he's hiding, we go and we bust his ass" Brandon turned to her with and awkward stare.
"What do you mean we, you can't come" she glared and took a firm step.
"I'm going, Gage is pretty much my own flesh and blood. I don't care how dangerous, you're not going alone and you can't stop me" Brandon went to ague when Mrs. Janets stood and rubbed her eyes.
"She's going Brandon, if there's anyone I trust to accompany you in this it's her, she's more capable then you think" he slouched slightly and muttered in defeat. Larry placed a hand on the girls shoulder and smiled.
"If you're going with you'll need a uniform and helmet. I can get you one of he spare cars" she nodded and turned for the door.
"I'll be right back need to grab something from my bag"

-_-_-_-_-

The elevator slowed to a stop and opened, she stepped out and surveyed the room. Sitting on the couch was a bright blue denim messenger bag, she walked over and pulled it over her shoulder. She pranced into the bathroom and pulled the door closed to changed.

_-_-_-_-_

Brandon sighed as he read the words displayed on screen. Nothing but numbers, numbers and more numbers. He was getting tired, he blinked to clear his blurring vision. Wyatt slamming his fists into the punching bag in the next room was somewhat calming, he had no idea where Rhett was.
"Where's Larry"
He turned his head. Standing in the doorway was Debbie, she was dressed in a racing suit. She had grey jeans on, white racing boots with pink accents, her gloves were a light magenta and she had on a jacket that looked identical to Gage's only hers was pink. At her midsection she wore a black belt with a silver buckle.
"Wow. Where did get all that"
She shrugged and fiddled with her belt.
"Oh remember when I found out about the operation" he nods.
"Well Gage got me this racing suit in case I ever wanted to join. Guess he knew" he shook his head slightly and chuckled.
"Ok then, Larry's at the hydra station" she gave him a quick nod and left the room. He sighed and slumped down in his chair.

-_-_-_-

Larry cleared his throat and wiped the sweat from his forehead. Careful to keep a close eye on Mara as he continued to move things around. He hefted a large box onto a high shelf when Debbie walked in.
"Hey Larry, I'm ready"
He turned to her and smiled.
"My aren't you a sight this evening"
She waved a hand at him and rolled her eyes. Larry turned away and walked towards a small box in the corner. He opened it and pulled out a pink motorcycle helmet.
"Gage picked this up when you found out about the team, he said you might join one day and he wanted things to ready when you did" she took the helmet and ran her fingers over it, giving a look of confusion when she felt bumpy texture. She looked at where her fingers where.

On the left side of the helmet was silver lettering.

'To my one and only, may this be the ride of you're life and allow you're dreams to lead you to great things'

With love.
Gage

She felt tears prick her eyes as she read the words, that night was the biggest mistake of her life. But she cannot erase and rewrite, the past is the last and things are the way they are. There is no way to get what you want.

Wyatt was tired. He had been tired for the past week. He fucking hated it. Hadn't slept a wink since this whole poison business. He honestly didn't know he could worry so much, but Gage had always been there when they needed it. He lost count how many times the kid got in a assholes face for giving his friends a hard time. He promised when they became friends he would do his best to prove he was better. He held his head high and stayed strong during the worst, but now he was falling apart.

And he couldn't wait to serve that bastard a full beating.

Brandon entered the room panting. He had a large smile on his face.

"Found him"

He was up and out of the room before Brandon had even finished his sentence automatically feeling one hundred times better. He sped down the halls and into the imagination chamber. Standing there was Larry he was talking to Mara. He walked over and pulled on Larry's sleeve.
"Can we go. Please tell me we can go" The older man looked past him at Brandon who nodded to him.
"Boys... and Debbie. Suit up and roll out"

He didn't have to say it twice. Within five minutes they were starting up the cars. She took in a breath as she watched them leave, larry placed a hand on her shoulder with a comforting smile.
"It'll be ok Mara"
She almost didn't hear him, she was only focused on him.
"Please be safe"
