The school bell rang signaling the end of the first period. Gage packed his bag and threw it over his shoulder. The rest of the group walked out talking not noticing their speedster friend was still in the room.
"Gage don't forget the worksheet for tonight" he turned to face his English teacher, her short black hair framed her caramel face nicely, and her hazel brown eyes twinkled a little when she smiled.
"I won't" he grabbed the slip of paper filled with questions and terms, he went to leave.
"Oh, Gage sweetheart hold up"
He turned to her.
"Yeah"
"Your dad called and asked if I could drop you and May off at home, said he was busy with errands" Gage shook his head, his dad sometimes took the household chores a little too seriously.
'But then again what else is he supposed to do since mom is the breadwinner'
So, of course, he asked his sister. "Ok, thanks Aunt Tracey" he then walked out of the door waving as his aunt bid him farewell.
He went up the stairs and down the hall, turning the handle he entered his second-period classroom. Inside there were several students, some were sitting on the desks and others were on the counters. He walked passed a couple of girls who were giggling in front of a phone, he glanced at the screen, they were watching the interview. It went better than expected, but he didn't expect people to fangirl/fanboy over a silly Q&A. He had fully passed them when they started talking.
"Oh my gosh aren't they just dreamy," one girl said while cupping her face in her hands.
"I know ugh what I wouldn't give to at least meet one of them" the other crumpled a paper she was holding.
"I like yellow I mean look at those arms" she fanned herself with a duo-tang.
"Oh if you think he's cute, look at this piece of cake" he saw her zoom in.
"Holy shit, your right THAT is pure hottie material"
Another girl walked over.
"Amy, Mandy what are you guys talking about"
Amy handed her the phone.
"That's probably like, the hottest guy alive. Just look at him, Debbie"
Debbie's face morphed from one of confusion to unimpressed.
"Green? You cant even see his damn face, either way, I've seen- no I've been with better looking"
Mandy raised an eyebrow.
"Who?"
She pointed to the other end of the room where Gage was sitting reading a book.
"Oh. Yeah you got a point"
Amy nodded.
"Yeah ok I take it back, you win Debs"
Debbie placed a hand on her hip, smiled and walked away. She made her way over to his seat and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Sup speedy"
He looked up from his book and smiled.
"Oh hey Debbie" she tilted her head to the left a little.
"So I just won a hottie contest"
He blinked.
"What?"
"Oh Amy and Mandy were talking about how green and yellow were really good looking and I-"
He cut her off.
"Please don't tell me that you bragged about the fact that I'm your ex again"
She smiled.
"I'm glad that you know me so well"
He pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Yeah your my neighbor and I've known you and Max since diapers"
The bell rang and she beelined for her seat. Gage shook his head and turned back to his book.
"Mr. Janets" he looked up and was met with two beady eyes glaring down at him.
"Uh yes Mrs. Flask"
She held out a piece of paper in front of him.
"Please take this paper to the office for me"
He took it and moved to a standing position.
"Okay"
He left the room closing the door behind him. Walking down various halls he bounced down the stairs to the office.
"Uhm hello"
The lady at the desk didn't move her eyes from the screen in front of her.
"Yes"
He held out the note.
"I have a note from Mrs. Flask"
She took the note eyes still not leaving the screen.
"Thank you, you may go"
He left.
He had made his way halfway down the locker hallway when the announcements chimed.
And then alarms started blaring.
