Chapter Twenty Three

J Cole POV

I ran out of that house as fast as I could . I know I had no reason to be upset with Miranda . I'm actually not even mad at her , I understand why she doesn't want me to stay with her , if she gets caught , she would get into big trouble . I don't know why I'm mad honestly  , I just am .

I figured that the cops were looking for my by now && that it wouldn't be safe for me to show my face , so I just went through the woods .

I walked non stop for 2 days , I didn't know what time it was nor where I was but I didn't stop walkin . My stomach was growlin like crazy cause I was hungry af but I didn't want to risk getting caught . I walked for 2 more hours then I couldn't take it anymore  , my head was starting to spin , I really needed to get some food so I had to risk it .

I walked out of the woods && ran behind a building . I made sure no one was around before I started walkin . I started to walk up to Mc Donald's && then all of a sudden a man grabbed me . He was tall , dark skinned , skinny , with big ass hands . He was wearing some dark blue jeans , Jordan's , ah north face , && a beanie . " Aye man you okay ? " He said as he grabbed my arm . I turned around real quick ! " Yo what the fuck you doing ? " I scream as I pushed him back .

He looked at me like I was crazy " Yo my bad , you just looked like you needed help " . I started to walk away " I'm fine " I said . " Really , your fine ? If your fine , why are you wearing a jail jump suit ? Why are you dirty ? && why you wondering the streets of Atlanta at 3 in the morning ? "

I thought for a minute , It would be easier for me if I just told him what happened but then again , I don't even know him , he could be setting me up . " I can't tell you " I responded .

" Look , if you ask me , it looks like you just broke out of jail . I can help you , I got connections . Just trust me . " He said .

What other choice do I have , I dont have any money , I don't have anywhere to stay , he's the only choice I have . I let out a sigh && then told him the story . He told me to follow him so I followed him into an alley .
