~☾︎ Tsukishima And The Case Of Love Sickness ☽︎~

When I walk with L/N up to her house I expected it to be something smaller, less open. But I was wrong, the apartment was a lot bigger than it looked. That didn't matter, the good thing is that she lived here now, that we happened to go to the same school, and that we were the same age. There's a lot of luck with how we met. And I wonder how L/N is going to tell her mom.

I'm kind of nervous meeting her mom. What if she doesn't speak really good Japanese? What if she has a disability? That will only make things wierd. But I shouldn't be worrying about that right now. "Mom! I'm home, I wanted to introduce a friend of mine," she calls out. That's when it hits me, the smell. It's to die for. "I'm in the kitchen!" she calls back. L/N turns to me and waves me over. So I take my shoes off and walk to the kitchen with L/N.

When I saw L/N's mom, I didn't know what to expect. Whether L/N looked like her mom, or somebody I might never know. "Mom, this is Tsukishima Kei. And Tsuki this is my mom," she says to each of us splitting her sentence in half between English and Japanese. Her mom looks up at me. She's more than a foot shorter than me, which makes me guess that L/N's a lot like her father.

"It's very nice to meet you Tsukishima. I'm L/N's mother if you didn't already know," she says shakily in Japanese. Then L/N explains to me that her mom is still learning Japanese. "So I'll help translate if you guys want to talk," she adds. "Okay," I say back. L/N's mom talks to her in English. I don't have a clue as to what they're saying so I stand here politely waiting. Then L/N asks me, "My mom would like to know if you want to stay for dinner?"

Her mom looks like she's working hard to prepare the meal, I don't want to intrude. "Oh, um I should probably get back home. My family will be waiting," come on Kei! I should have stayed so that I can get to know L/N and her mom better. "Oh okay," she says back. I feel so bad, she has this really cute pouty face but I really do need to get home. "Maybe another time then?" she tries again.

"Yes, for sure," I say with a sad smile. L/N communicates that I won't be staying for dinner and then she walks me to the door. "I guess I'll see you in the morning, right?" she asks. It almost sounds like she wants to spend time with me. "Yes, I'll be here around 7:30 to pick you up. And do you mind if a friend comes with us, we always walk to school together," I say to her. "Sure!" she says.

And just before I leave, she gives me a hug. I'm surprised at first, then I turn beet red. But I still hug her back. "B-bye!" I tell her as I close the door. Did she really just hug me? I walk to the elevator in a daze. Could that mean she likes me too? No, maybe she's just a touchy feely type of person? Or that's something she's used to doing in America? These thoughts swirl in my head as I take the elevator to the first floor. Then I walk the rest of the way home.

L/N's POV

"I can tell that you like that boy Y/N. Don't go making mistakes you'll regret," Mom warns. "I just met him today Mom! We're barely even friends," I retort. She gives me "the look". "Whaat!?" I ask. "I just don't want to see you get hurt; sweetheart not all men are good. I just want to make sure you don't make the wrong decision and end up with something that'll hurt you for a long time," she says. "But that doesn't mean all men are bad. And from what I could tell during the game I played against him today, he isn't some stupid jock. He's a smart kid who makes smart decisions," I reply.

"Okay if that's what you trully want I won't stop you. I love you very much," she says as she hugs me. "I love you too, Mom," I say back. "Now, leaving the heavy behind. The boy is a bean pole! And cute at that," she says with a giant grin. Where did this side of her come from? "Stop it Mom!" I say blushing. "Ha! I knew it, I knew it. You do like him!" she fangirls. I blush, unable to come up with something to say back. "Anyway, dinner is done. Come eat," she tells me. "Imma go change and be right back," I reply.
