~☾︎ Video Game Reward ☽︎~

Ever since Kenma and I were little, we've been competitive with video games. We were both naturally skilled video gamers but I won most of the time. Kenma isn't a very expressive person in general but he hates when I beat him in anything. Kuroo's been a key witness to his 'fits' too.

So as we're playing yet another round of KarioKart8, I take first place with him in second and Kuroo somewhere further behind, continuing to play. I shout in victory and Kenma almost gives me a venomous glare. "I know you love me," I say with a teasing smile. He turns his face away using his hair as a curtain. "No, I don't," he says barely loud enough for me to hear. "Hmm, what was that?" I ask with a goofy grin just as Kuroo finishes his part of the race.

I get off the couch and crawl to where Kenma is on the floor. "What, are you being all pouty because I beat you again?" I tease. I plop myself in front of him, drawing his attention upward. He looks up and down your figure. You focus on him smirking, knowing that he's staring at you. "Kenma quit staring," Tetsurou says with an evil chuckle. Kenma looks at him and actually gives him a deadly glare.

I smile trying to hold in my laughter but can't. I burst into a fit of giggles and tears. Kenma looks back over to me and blushes slightly. "Y/N, are you laughing because I called Kenma out while he was checking you out?" he says the most obvious thing to make me laugh harder. "Y-yes," I wheeze out and continue to chortle. Tetsurou joins me and falls off the couch laughing really hard. Kenma just sits on the floor, embarrassed that he got caught and called out.

Tetsurou and I are rolling on the floor still laughing uncontrollably when Kenma gets up and goes upstairs to his room, slamming his door. Tetsurou and I stop a couple minutes after Kenma's door-slamming so that we could catch our breathe. "Phewwwwww," I huff out, "I think Kenma is really embarrassed." "Well who wouldn't be? I mean, it's so obvious, he doesn't need to hide his emotions, like ever, but when he gets emotions it's as obvious as a fish needing to live in water. He isn't very good at being discreet," Tetsurou informs.

We lay there not saying anything for a little while. "I'm going to go check on him," I say, rocking myself to get up. Tetsurou looks at the clock, "I need to get home, tell Kenma I said goodbye," he tells me heading for the front door while grabbing his jacket off the back of the couch. "Alrighty," I say with a mock salute. Tetsurou gives a light-hearted laugh. "See ya at school tomorrow Y/N," he waves and leaves heading down the street towards his house.

I look toward the staircase. I march my way up to Kenma's room, making sure not to stomp. I knock, "Kenma, it's Y/N. May I come in?" I ask with my sweet-innocent voice. I snicker before I hear him walk to his door and he opens it looking down at me. I'm only a couple inches shorter than him but he makes sure that I know he's mad with me. "Kuroo wanted me to tell you that he had to go," I just barely finish before Kenma pulls me into his room.

"H-huh?" I say confused. "4 rounds. If I win I get a reward. If you win, you get what you want. Deal?" Kenma says in short, clipped sentences. Then I look at his t.v. and realize that he wants to compete for, a reward. "Deal," I say. What could go wrong? I sit in his red beanbag while he take his other, black one. We each get our Kario characters ready and decide which cup we want to do.

We go for the crown cup and jolt our remotes forward as the countdown finishes, signaling for us to start our first lap. I'm doing pretty good for the first couple of laps until Kenma suddenly passes me without warning. I widen my eyes just as he crosses the finish line before me taking first place. I look over at Kenma. "Are we going to continue?" he asks in a monotone voice. This kid; I can't lose now! I turn back to the t.v. and press the '2' button.

We continue our races with close scores, him keeping a slight lead. We're finally to the fourth and final race; rainbow road. This is the one track I despise. I'm only average on it, at least falling off once every time I race on it. I look over at Kenma just before the countdown starts and I think I catch him smirk before I refocus my attention on the t.v.

He won . . . he got first place while I got second . . . "So what do you want for you reward Kenma?" I ask sulking. I look up to see if he's going to respond but instead he tackles me and presses his lips to mine. I'm shocked as he pins my arms upward with a leg between mine and his body pressed close to me. I blush and stare at his face. He attempts to work his lips against mine, urging for me to respond. I'm too surprised to kiss back so he leaves my lips and whispers in my ear, "Why is it so surprising? You've been teasing me for too long now. This is what you get."

This is so unlike Kenma. He doesn't return to my lips but instead starts leaving little kisses along my jaw, neck, and collar bone. I huff, blush, and turn away so that he won't see my bothered face. I can't say that I'm not enjoying this, but it doesn't feel right. We're friends aren't we? "Kenma, s-stop please," I barely whisper out. He was dragging his toungue along the skin of your neck and stopped immediately once he heard you ask.

He pulls himself away and looks into your eyes. "I-I just don't think this i-is r-right," I say voicing my feelings. He looks at me slightly taken aback. Then he looks like he's thinking really hard about something as he continues to straddle my waist. He meets my eyes again before quietly saying, "Y/N, I probably shouldn't have revealed my feelings like this but I didn't know what other way I should tell you."

It hits me like a punch to the heart. I feel like somebody has lifted me off the ground but at the same time is making sure I don't float away by keeping a string tied around my ankle. I've been so oblivious to Kenma's feelings that I haven't even realized my own yet. I feel really guilty. I led Kenma on while not even keeping track of my own emotions. I'm such an idiot.

"I-I'm sorry," I start, "I'm so sorry Kenma!" I'm crying now. Kenma pull me upwards and arranges me so that I'm sitting on his lap. He holds me close not entirely sure of what to do. I grasp onto his shirt tight letting all the tears out. It's such a stupid reason to cry too. I slowly bring myself back together. I take a deep breath and pull my face away from Kenma's shoulder. He peers at my red, swollen face. "You okay?" he asks. "Y-yeah I think so," I respond not so sure of myself. "I'm such an idiot," I say to him.

"Why?" Kenma asks in his usual monotone voice. But I can tell by looking at his eyes that he really cares. "I kept stringing you along. Making you believe in something that I hadn't even realized until just now," I say. He smirks a tiny, itsy, bitsy bit. "And what was that?" he asks. "I-I didn't e-even realize that-" I take a deep breath again, "That I was in love with you." He looks at me eyes wide. He-in his head-was only expecting you to say that you liked him. He wasn't prepared for the word love.

"It's alright Y/N. I l-love you t-too," he says while blushing and looking away. You look at him lovingly. You were finally happy that all of this-whatever it was-was behind him and you now. "Hey Kenma?" you asked and he turned his head toward you. "Yeah-" he was cut off by you kissing him this time. But it wasn't a harsh kiss like before, it was more sweet, more mutual. He kissed you back. You made out passionately with Kenma; happy that you had both settled everything to where you were both on the same page.
