~☾︎ Lev And Kitty ☽︎~
Pitter patter pit pat. Rain. Stupid, horrible, cold, rain. The small coverage you found barely made staying dry easy as the wind helped blow the rain sideways; right into your face. It also didn't help that you weren't able to find any food today. There weren't any good scraps that people threw away.
You wondered how long it would take for the rain to stop. It was getting dark, and colder as each day passed by. You didn't know if you were going to survive the winter. Squeak! You heard a mouse. It didn't sound too far away as you slowly crawled to the edge of the small overhang. The mouse was next to a trash can just across the alley. You decided that being wet was worth eating, so you crept up slowly so as not to scare the mouse. And when you finally got close enough you pounced, extracting your claws and baring your teeth.
You caught it. And fresh meat had never tasted better as you could already feel your stomach smiling in fullness. It had been a few days since you had gotten some decent food, but getting wet was worth it. You retreated back to the protection of the overhang and tried to sleep. As useless as it seemed, you needed to save your energy for the next day so that you could be prepared for anything.
Lev's POV
It had rained hard the night before. At least I didn't have to walk to school this morning as it was still sprinkling. I got up and out of bed and headed downstairs. Still clad in my pajamas. My mom says, "Good morning dear." I mumble a good morning back and sit at the kitchen table. "Oh darn," Mom says as she's looking at a recipe. I rub my face to help attempt to wake me up. "Lev," Mom pauses, "I need milk for the recipe I'm making for the dinner party tonight. We used the last of it yesterday, would you be a dear and go to the store and pick some up?" she asks rhetorically, not looking up from the piece of paper in her hands.
Great, now I have to head to the store. "Okay, is there anything else you need while I head out?" I ask with a sigh. "Not at the moment, no," she responds rustling around in the kitchen. I walk away silently and head down the hallway to my room. I didn't know she was going to another dinner party tonight. Guess I should pick up something for myself while I'm at the store.
I enter my room to make my bed, get dressed, and brush my teeth. I grab a jacket and a cap. It looks like it stopped raining so I'm not going to bother grabbing an umbrella. Plus the market isn't that far away. "I'll be back in a bit," I say while grabbing the money by the door she left and exiting our apartment. I go to the elevator and press the first floor and wait.
At the store~
As I'm walking down the isle I make sure not to make eye contact with anybody. Any person here would think I'm unusual. With my tall height, silver hair, and green eyes. In the human world, I look like some kind of mutt. But nevermind that; I walk to the dairy isle minding my own business. I grab the milk we normally get and walk to the self-check out. I exit the building hearing an employee uselessly shout out, "Have a nice day!" I pull on my hood and try not to draw too much attention to myself.
I'm walking on the street when I hear a quiet, "Meow." It's a cat. I look down the alley way and spot a small overhang. I walk closer and find a shivering cat. It looks cold and weak. I wonder if it's sick? There's only one way to find out I guess.
Y/N's POV
The night has ended and daylight has come to say hello. I shiver as a chilly breeze washes over me. I stay where I am, shivering, hoping that some kind of warm miracle will happen. I sure hope this doesn't lead to my death. I close my eyes and wish away all this horrible stuff. That's when I hear footprints nearing. I open my eyes and see a tall boy looking down at me.
