things didn't change much for the next two weeks, it was all still full of school and textbooks and short nights together before one left early in the morning and the other slept in to cure the hangovers.

he should be there right now, playing with the boys hairs and scolding him probably, but taehyung couldn't help the busy schedule he's been in. the textbooks laid out on the kitchen table were screaming at him already to learn the information. if it wasn't for his mother walking in with a pretty smile and soothing tone, he just might have lost him mind.

"taehyung, something came in the mail for you." she was obviously very excited, a big envelope in her hands that had the brunette widening his eyes and standing up abruptly.

"oh my god." he said, pointing at the envelope, "oh my god." he said again.

his mom was beaming with joy, despite not even knowing what the letter said, "it's from the school!" she jumped in her place and pushed the piece of mail towards her sons chest, "open it!"

"big envelopes are good right?" taehyung said, looking down at the enclosed mail and seeing the schools name across the label in big proud letters. zokei university in tokyo.

he sat back down at the table, feeling like his legs would give out any second, his mother quickly took the seat beside him. this was probably the most important moment in his life, or one of them at least. it was only his dream school since beginning to fall in love with film and all things production.

"just remember," his mom stopped him real quick, her hands over his as they were about to tear open the flap, "no matter what it says, you did your best and i'm so proud."

taehyung smiled at his mom and nodded, "thanks mom." he said.

there really was no more reason to wait, his mind was completely blank and all he could focus on was the swirl of his stomach and knowing very well this envelope determined his future. that was a scary thought, and he couldn't help but almost not want to look.

the paper ripped easily, a messy tear exposing nice paper with printed ink spelling out his life. taehyung didn't even realize his hands were shaking as he unfolded the paper and scanned over the first few lines, the words registering immediately — his stomach dropping.

"i got in." it was almost like living in a dream, like he wasn't actually there sitting in his kitchen with his mom who was now standing and hugging him. everything seemed like a blur, it was nothing like he thought it would be. getting into zokei always seemed to be a huge deal for him, the fantasy of confetti and shouts of joy once reading the acceptance letter — but it wasn't like that. all taehyung could think about was him.

his moms voice finally came back into focus, her happy ramble quite typical of a mother who's child just got into a prestigious university. "— i have to call your father, and the congratulatory dinner needs to be moved closer and all our family members needed to be notified, oh my goodness tae baby i'm so happy for you." she continued on, walking into the kitchen and grabbing her phone. he even noticed her wipe away a small tear.
