⠀no one particularly enjoys finals when that time of the school year comes around. while others studied hard to pass with the highest score to set the curve and other honestly couldn't care less, everyone had a bit of joy in their systems when the final bell rang on the last exam day.
people seemed to leave the classroom quicker and smile a little more knowing summer break was finally here. two months of freedom and for others it was the last day on campus, just to go and start another four years on a new campus.
jungkook stood there again, leaning against his black jeep and searching the crowd of students for him. it would take a second to find out what kind of car ride home this would be, taehyung wasn't the best at hiding his emotions. the ravenette just hoped he did well on the tests.
a smile broke out on the young boys face, seeing a fluffy mop of brown curls come from around the corner. taehyung was grinning wide, talking fast about who knows what with his friend beside him. jimins eyes were tiny crescents, head tilted back in a laugh at whatever the brunette said. it was a perfect moment to see. sometimes it made him miss being in high school, not being able to get those moments back for himself. everything seemed to leave so slowly before you realize it's gone.
"jungkook!" taehyung shouted, his smile bright and excited to see his boyfriend here as always. they had the whole summer together now.
"taehyung!" the ravenette yelled back, "and jimin!" he added seeing his best friend standing there with arms in the air, waiting expectantly for his own shout out.
the two came running over, their backpacks banging against them with each step. "jungkook!" they yelled again. by now people have stared a little, wondering why people were running and screaming across the courtyard.
"buy us food." jimin said, he was breathing heavily but still trying to work those puppy eyes to get what he wanted.
"excuse you." the youngest chuckled as he got back into the car, taehyung claiming the passenger side while jimin found a seat in the back middle. "okay," he said while leaning forward, "buy your boyfriend food."
there was a giggle from the passenger seat, making jungkooks heart soar and look at the pretty brunette. "come on kook, i'll buy the drinks you get the burgers. exams are over!" he turned up the radio and rolled his window down, nothing feeling better than the stress that had lifted from his shoulders after turning in that last test paper.
there was nothing better then right now, seeing his baby so happy and smiling more than he had these past few weeks. the wind was blowing his bangs back and drowning out his voice as he sang to the songs blasting on the radio with jimin. jungkook just listened, and smiled, knowing this was how he wished taehyung felt all the time — and soon they'd all have burgers in their tummies so that's a win for them all.
"personally, i think i'm gonna try the one with bacon." taehyung said as they walked into the fast food restaurant.
jungkook had his arm loosely around his waist as they walked, "you never get bacon." he pointed out, knowing very well how much the boy complained when he'd sneak a bite of the ravenettes.
"i'll feeling a bit wild today." taehyung looked up at his boyfriend and wiggled his eyebrows, just before pecking his cheek. "jimin what do you want?" he changed the subject and asked their friend, halting the pretty little thoughts invading jungkooks mind and wanting to take the brunette home right then.
jimin ordered and they got their food, finding a table to sit at that was by the window but still towards the back. jungkook passed around the wrapped burgers respectively and remembered to give the bacon one to taehyung. he ordered an extra plain one for when his boyfriend changed his mind.
"oooh gimme the fries." jimin was the most excited for food, everyone could tell by the rumble his stomach made. "and thanks jungkook for the meal." he remembered to say, always sweet and always polite.
taehyung was already biting into his burger, somewhat surprised by the bacon and not hating it. "i wonder if they have this place in tokyo, bacon isn't that bad." his voice was a little muffled from the food in his cheeks, and his comment made them go silent.
"i'm gonna have to get a job so i can afford all the plane tickets to visit you." jimin said.
jungkook just chuckled and tossed a fry at the blonde. "you're coming with me chim, i got you covered."
taehyung smiled at his friends, chewing on his burger and for the first feeling relieved. things weren't so bad after all, and he wished he could hold onto this feeling for a while. at least for now they could all enjoy it. "we are going to have so many sleepovers." the brunette was already imagining it now, of course he'd have to make sure his roommate was okay with it and all that.
"we already do." jungkook said. he looked sideways at his boyfriend, the boy had a little ketchup on his lip.
"okay well jimin can just come then."
"i'm kidding i love you take that back."
"whipped." jimin coughed under his breath. he smiled and simply took another bite of his burger when a glare was sent his way.
jungkook just accepted it. "hell yeah i'm whipped," then he turned to his boyfriend pointing a finger at him, "and you better keep that in mind when all the new college bitches want a taste of you."
"no one is going to want a taste of this." taehyung rolled his eyes at how ridiculous his boyfriend was sounding. leave it to jungkook to start rambling about dumb things that made no sense. how else would he make content anyways.
"are you kidding me?" jimin said, "everyone crushes on you and i'm still trying to get yoongi to ask me out again."
"everyone crushes on you? how many dudes do i need to fight at your school?" jungkook was just now hearing about how appealing the older boy was. of course he already found him attractive and irresistible so others seeing the same was inevitable — but jungkook has very clearly expressed how off the market kim taehyung is.
taehyung just rolled his eyes and kept eating, "you're not fighting anyone, and you have nothing to worry about. i love you." he leaned over to kiss jungkooks lips, a quick one that tasted like ketchup and salt.
"damn i wanted drama." jimin cut in of course, dropping his burger on the wrapper and feigning annoyance.
"you should really start your own youtube channel, jimins tea time." jungkook said, chuckling at the thought and just thinking back to the countless times he's listened to the boy drunkenly ramble.
he seemed to only humor jungkook, laughing and shaking those blonde bangs. "no one would find me interesting."
"i don't know chim," taehyung said, "i've read quite a few comments from people missing you in his videos. you have quite the following."
maybe one day he'd consider it, experiment a little on his best friends channel and possibly start his own. now seemed like a better time then ever for a new start, a new beginning that they all seemed to be dealing with. it didn't really matter though, the change that would come and the new things they'd have to deal with — because they'd always have this. this, the moment right now where they are together and happy, without another thought other then being together. their own sweet family.
