The entire weekend was amazing and interesting. Colt had seemed to be holding back a little in the beginning. Almost like he wanted to say more to me than he was but by the time we were watching fireworks on the 4th, he seemed to be at ease. The entire last day we spent at the beach, we spent together, just Me, Colt, and Maddy, like any other family, would spend a vacation together. I knew it was ridiculous of me to feel like that but, I couldn't help it and Maddy was happier than I had ever seen her.

We had been back in Brownston for 3 days and Colt called and asked me if I was able to leave town for the next couple of days for the trip to Atlanta that we had spoken about over the weekend. I told him I was since I had just finished building the last website that I had to do. He was supposed to pick Maddy and me up at 7 in the morning since he had scheduled the first showing for 9. The doorbell rang so, I quickly closed my suitcase and went to answer the door.

I was shocked to see Daisy standing there when I opened the door. "What are you doing here?" I asked her turning to go to the kitchen to pack some snacks for Maddy. "You remember that we are going to Atlanta with Colt, right?" I kept talking since I knew she was following.

"Yeah. Except Maddy isn't going," she informed me like it was obvious. I closed the refrigerator door and raised an eyebrow.

"What are you talking about?"

"Colt asked me and Tucker to take Maddy while you two go to Atlanta," she beamed at me. I knew what the look on her face meant.

"Why would he do that?" I asked her with a slight glare on my face.

"I don't know," she shrugged but I didn't miss her smirk she tried to hide. "Maybe he wants to get lucky." I scoffed.

"Then he should go alone. I'm sure he can find some girl to be his biggest fan for the night," I rolled my eyes. He was not getting anything from her. Not that he wanted to anyways.

"Oh, please. You know just as well as the rest of us do, that he still loves you." I was going to argue but heard Maddy yelling 'Daddy,' which meant Colt had arrived so I closed my mouth quickly but sent her a glare. I heard her giggle as I made my way to the front door.

"Colt, hey," I said with a smile. I was feeling slightly awkward with Daisy's words running through my head. I knew he hadn't heard it but, I still felt like he knew that we had been talking about him.

"Hey," he smiled back. "Are you ready to go?" I nodded my head. He turned to Maddy and bent down to her level. "How are you today, Giggles?" He asked her. I smiled watching them interact always brought me a smile no matter what. I had waited so long to see this and the smile that was on Maddy's face whenever Colt was spending time with her was beautiful.

"I'm good!" Maddy shouted as she threw her arms around Colt's neck. He laughed.

"I'm glad to hear that. I was wondering something," he said pulling back a little to look at her. "Would you like to have a sleepover with Aunt Daisy while momma and daddy go try and find a new house for daddy?" He asked her. She started jumping up and down clapping. "Is that okay?" He asked me.

"Um... Yeah. I mean if that's how you want it," I shrugged. Colt cleared his throat and stood up with Maddy in his arms.

"I just thought that we could cover more ground if we left this one with her aunt." He kissed Maddy on the cheek. "If you don't feel comfortable leaving her, we can take her though." I shook my head.

"It's fine really. As long as Daisy is fine with it," I turned to see Daisy coming into the room. She gave me a big smile as she took Maddy from Colt.
